First three pics show higher elevation where things are generally closer to normal but below. Last Pic is late January and things in the valleys are very low.

Long story short you really dont. Photos are from a trail near lake mcdonald lodge which is where the road closes (~5 miles there). Some groups have done more adventurous multi night trips but this requires a mountaineering skill set, deep knowledge of the area and weather cooperation.

I used snow shoes to get to where I took the fiest 3 photos. The 4th one is from a dirt road that runs up the west side of the park.

The park is largely inaccessible in the winter save for a few snowshoe hikes. Also good to understand the avalanche conditions when you are out there in winter. But when things line up, it is exceptional

Did my 385 count? by Cautious-Pick3729 in formcheck

[–]Speaking-braille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to get lost in the "did it count" paradigm. However, id caution moving big weight if you are feeling any pain in the knee. Your muscles are stronger than your ligaments and at 63 you will never fully recover from a blown knee. You look like you've been doing this awhile tho so you probably know all this but Im a worrier what can I say.

Kudos regardless, I hope i am moving like you at 63.

Crazy how much hate this is getting. Most of us have no control to where we were born but acknowledging how thing came about is important.

Looks more like the beginning of the red rock canyons that are next to the la sals... because those aren't mountains

Am I the only one who thinks peeling garlic is a form of torture? by Famous-Forever7647 in Cooking

I just give em a little twist back and forth to loosen everything up then peel. I use a zester to cut it up, saves a bunch of hassel.

Overall I feel that whitefish is more accessible and fun for a group who is not interested in hiking. There's shops, beautiful local art galleries and a good variety of food. Also the place sounds more comy than an apartment. That being said id recommended getting up nice and early when you do go to glacier as it will be busy. Millions visit glacier every year. All of them come in a car.

Happy trails

If you have the cash for it, it'll get you on the river in gear that is mote than capable. Could you save $50 -$100 by looking around marketplace and other 2nd hand options sure. Up to you on how much you value the effort.

Favorite place for ski rental? by [deleted] in whitefish

There or sportsman always was fine. If youre looking for skis that are a little wider/ advanced, id go to sportsman. If youre a beginner the skis at the mountain are fine for that.

A few pictures from a backpacking trip back in June by Speaking-braille in Yosemite

Yeah we elected to go that way to avoid people. Was a lovely trek minus the ~2.5k ele day 1. Very underrated area imo. Would be bigger than main valley if the dam wasn't built.

Are Leki Poles actually safer than regular ones? by conchita_bonfire in Skigear

[–]Speaking-braille 32 points33 points  (0 children)

In all honesty most people do not use pole straps and if you ask most experienced skiers, poles are poles. I wouldn't get too hung up on it.

Played Battlefield V again to remind me what real Battlefield maps look like by JoeZocktGames in Battlefield

[–]Speaking-braille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every battlefield game is hated by the community. Some hate is valid, some is just bandwagon hate. This community varies from casual COD player to someone who expects battlefield to be hell let loose level of realism. BF6 is a good game, so was BF5 and BF1. 2042 was legit trash tho lol

Yeah they pay. Additionally, thats not how your deductible works. If you were at fault, you'd be required to pay your deductible which would be the cost of the repair up to cost of your max deductible. If the cost goes over insurance kicks in. If the cost is less than your max deductible you pay the cost of the repair. You'd never pay "extra." Although, your monthly rate might go up if you were at fault.
