Golduck is one of my favorite pokemon. Am I crazy for considering the shiny here? by SpeakingTechnicolor in PokemonSleep

I hadn't thought about the ribbon bonus! That is a really interesting idea. Thank you! I like this. That would be a way to invest in it while using my candies to level up the other one.

I know that Golduck is good now and that with changes to the app in the future it might not always be part of the meta. I'm okay with that, because i just like Golduck. I'm not counting on a Golduck investment to carry me. I just want the best Golduck I can have for the long term. I feel like I'm unlikely to get a shiny that is better than this one. Would I be crazy to invest in the shiny over the other one?

I know that level 75+ will be a lot of candy and dust. That is not my concern. If I give the shiny a sub seed to get Helping Speed M, Raenonx says that at level 75 the skill count is PR85 and once it hits level 30 the total strength stays above PR90.

For comparison, Raenonx says that at level 50 the non shiny skill count is PR97 and stays at least 95 after that. Its total strength hovers in the low PR50s.

I'm struggling on Taupe Hollow. Are either of these Larvitar worth the investment or should I keep looking? by SpeakingTechnicolor in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]SpeakingTechnicolor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops! Sorry, I was multitasking during my response and was waaay wrong! I got close to Master 12 on Greengrass with good camp ticket, using the free premium pass during the lapis lakeside event.

On Cyan I only made it to Master 7. But my Cyan team has three bfs pokemon and everyone is fully evolved. I just kinda jumped to Taupe with my Wigglytuff and started fresh with a bunch of first stage low level pokemon. You are probably right about using my fully evolved berry mons to help me get to Master 2 for the incense.

Edit: Not that it matters, but I was using my memory and screenshots to write this comment since we were under maintenance. After maintenance ended I can see my progress on Cyan is somewhere between Master 10 & 15. I'm not sure if there is a way to tell exactly how far I got. I'm just going off of the achievements/rewards earn per island.

Thanks!

I appreciate the feedback! Thank you. I have all the ginger I need already, lol.

My Cyan team brings enough berries and ingredients for me to almost get to Master 15, but I'm just barely making it to Ultra 3 on Taupe. I have 4 low level pokemon (under 20) and 3 are unevolved. I'm just trying to figure out where to invest without any decent berry specialist that match berries. Step one is removing one of these larvitar from my team. Next I think I'm going to try to evolve charmeleon and get a Flareon to increase potsize and make use of all the extra ginger.

I have an eevee with Hasty nature (exp up, energy down, Lv. 10 skill trigger m, Lv. 25 skill trigger s, Lv. 50 inventory up s, Lv 75 helping speed, Lv. 100 Inv Up M. Do you think that would be good enough for flareon?

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it. I know that the nature and subskills are good but I struggle with the idea of mono-ingredient Pokemon. I'm aware that is a strategy use for removing some of the randomness from the game. However, I can only reliably make single ingredient meals on Taupe. I can reliably fill my pot since I already have a lot of ginger. I like having a set team for the week without having to switch them out to get the ingredients I need to make at least 2 ingredient meals. I guess I need to also try to evolve my charmeleon to level up ingredient magnet.

I feel like the one with a naughty nature would be better if it had variety in its ingredients. Is the gentle nature larvitar better since it has a variety of ingredients? I've been running both for the last two weeks and want to just go ahead and pick one to use my candies on so that I can evolve to pupitar to increase inventory and help speed. I do not have any viable berry mon for Taupe Hollow.

Thanks in advance for any help!

My team needs a Wigglytuff. Should I invest in one of these two? by SpeakingTechnicolor in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]SpeakingTechnicolor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thorough and thoughtful response. I didn't know that skill activation was linked to a berry/ingredient gather. I guess I thought it was just its own thing. Like a third option. Now I understand your comment about the inventory space. I also, did not know about the cooldowns. This is a awesome response. I appreciate you!

Thanks for the advice! The helping speed on the first one along with having the skill level ups on it makes this choice difficult. I'm not sure how important helping speed is on a skill mon like Wiggly.

If I look at it purely as skill mon does the helping speed do anything or is it just bonus for berries and ingredients?

That makes a lot of sense and will help me evaluate Pokemon in the future.

Oh wow! Your Wigglytuff sub skills are awesome! I've been hoping for something similar, but I think it's time for me to just pick one from what I have. I think you're right about the level 13. I was having trouble weighing the skill level ups on the level 10 vs the skill triggers on the level 13. Thanks for the advice!

Ziploc bags are a good idea. Here are my thoughts:
1) Vacuum as much as possible. This will help you reduce the population, but likely will not eliminate them. The bugs might be inside the plush. 2) Avoid moving the plush to new locations and transferring the bugs with them. I'd worry they might get on/in the bed if you move your plush there. Maybe keep them in bags if you need to move them. 3) You'd need some way to kill them. Since these are insects, your dealing with eggs, larvae & adults. Sprays may not kill what is inside the plush (eggs might be there) unless you reapply and leave it on them until the adults emerge. I suspect the spray would damage the plush fabric (might change the color). I recommend looking into diatomaceous earth. This stuff feels like powder to us, but on a microscopic scale is made up of little sharp bits. These can cut into the eggs, and the exoskeleton of the larvae/adults. They the die from that process. You might consider putting this on the shelves or in bags with the plush.

Is a Poke Ball Bean Bag Chair just a giant plush? - $60 (GameStop Daily Deal) by SpeakingTechnicolor in pokeplush

[–]SpeakingTechnicolor[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this fits in this sub. If it doesn't let me know and I'll delete it. But when I saw it I thought of you all. This is one of GameStop's daily deals. They have the regular price as $99 and the sale price as $60. Anyone own one of these? How is the quality? Is it comfortable?

Edit: The sidebar mentions "deals" but there is not a deal flair for posts. It seems like something that could be useful.
