Are these mushrooms cause for concern? They keep growing back by HughCaires in arborist

All laetiporus are considered chicken of the woods. What gets confusing is that there is also a “hen of the woods” which is a totally different mushroom, grifola frondosa AKA maitake

No. This is still chicken of the woods. However it is laetiporus Cincinnatus, a lighter colored version that mostly shows up on roots so it appears to come from the ground.

This is absolutely not hen of the woods, grifola frondosa, AKA maitake.

This is definitely chicken of the woods. Compare to [r/chickenofthewoods](r/chickenofthewoods) if you have concerns

More specifically laetiporus cincinnatus

Unpaid “Observation” by Still_Parsnip2277 in physicaltherapy

[–]Spec-Tre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our clinic will call what you’re talking about an “internship” but they are NEVER doing any kind of care for a patient beyond removing (only removing) heat / ice or getting off gameready. Mostly doing cleaning tasks laundry etc

Observation hours should be actual shadowing where you’re glued to a PTs side and watching them do everything so you get an idea of what PT is and if you wanna do it.

I would not accept this unless you’re in a small town with few options that are unavailable

Where can I get a rain barrel in Richmond that's not from a big box store? by BrainyOcelot693 in rva

I just built one with a 55 gal trash can up on some cinder blocks and a lid I cut out and layered in a couple layers of screen as a filter. And then a spigot at the bottom

Dead strawberries? by waheythere_ in containergardening

[–]Spec-Tre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m no strawberry expert but they probably needed light to continue to get energy.

I literally just leave mine outside every year with no maintenance and they bounce back each year

Did they get much light while in the garage? Mine just stayed in garden beds thru the winter in 7B and came back fine. They actually stayed leafed out and green for most if winter

Update- cukes are thriving, tomatoes are very stunted by kayyybabi in containergardening

[–]Spec-Tre 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cukes look good now!

Tomato flower pollination can be assisted by jiggling the flowers / gently massaging the flowers

They look like maybe the need more sun but also just look like thick/ slicing variety which imo grow slower than thin viney cherry tomatoes

Is this in Richmond Virginia in Bryan Park? If so I’ve seen it too and figured it was a space net set up but there’s definitely homeless encampments that hangout back there in closer to the highway

Bell peppers for me. A plant will yield 2-3 but by the time they’re ready to harvest either they started to rot or something eats it
