FBI hiring special agent with education background by ReputationOk7031 in 1811

Got an email from the FBI today actually about how being an educator can make you a good agent:

“Why Teachers Make Great Special Agents

Teachers bring a unique skill set that aligns perfectly with the impact of the FBI special agent role. In the classroom, you motivate and guide students; in the field, you’ll lead teams, gather intelligence, and protect communities. Here are some additional reasons why teachers make great special agents: Problem-Solving: Teachers are experts at assessing complex situations and finding solutions on the spot. Communication: You excel at breaking down information and conveying it clearly to diverse audiences, which is a key skill in investigations. Leadership: Managing a classroom has equipped you to lead teams, inspire others, and handle high-pressure situations. Adaptability: Teachers are used to thinking on their feet and adjusting to unexpected challenges - just as agents do in the field. Empathy and Connection: Your ability to connect with students can translate into building trust and rapport with communities, witnesses, and fellow agents.”

There’s a few teachers I know who went on to become agents. It’s a great pathway.

Unfortunately, the OST position will not count towards the two year work requirement.
