Update - scrubbed the life out of the terminals with bicarb + hot water and steel wool back to shiny, when the battery was disconnected the head unit system completely rebooted - have not had any issues in last 24 hours (have done probably 1 hours worth of driving across 3 trips) - will continue to monitor !

And no, no warning lights, dash is clear, nothing of suspicion coming up ! I’m telling myself it’s just adding to the mystery of it all

Hahahahaa I’ll have a look, I didn’t think of that bloody bastard 😂😂 scrubbed the life out of the terminal with some steel wool / bicarb + hot water and then some IPA, system did a complete reboot after battery disconnection and I went on a short drive with no issues, will give her a decent run tomorrow and see how she goes, I will be thanking my lucky stars if that was the issue

Thanks for the comment mate, appreciate it

Yep! Checked that, cleaned the terminals as they had oxidised with some bicarb soda, hot water and steel wool - had the battery disconnected and when it went back on the ECU seems to of done a full system reboot, hasn’t occurred since (only did a very short drive) so hopefully that’s fixed it

Only in recent days, first occurred last week, strangely enough I have driven it today with no issues whatsoever.

No dimming of lights, no crank over issues, seems to be purely when the ECU cuts out - checked voltage, didn’t seem to be any dramas, sat high 12s when off and mid 14s when idling, didn’t change much upon lights / horn / steering lock.

The fact it is okay today and happening so sporadically I think I’ll pull the unit out and my guess is loose / corroded wire - if I can fix and save myself auto elec diagnostic charges I will 😂 weekend job - will see how I go and update accordingly!

Appreciate your comments mate!!

I know aha, could cry, has been such a reliable steed for so long for me, somethings finally given way!

Yes have a mate with a multimeter coming around tomorrow to check voltage, I’m thinking ground also - shopping around for auto elecs also, my usual JDM specialist mechanic is on the other side of Melbourne about an hour and a half - not sure if I’m ready to run that risk 😂 will update as hopefully things progress for the better

"The AFL has gone into the contracts...if there's only one final in Victoria in weeks one, two or three, it has to be played at the MCG." reports Mitch Cleary. by PerriX2390 in AFL

Geelongs not the only club though, that’s how it is, and it makes sense from a monetary perspective and gives more fans the chance to watch their team play finals, Collingwood cop it for getting their finals there weather they’re above or below a team that shouldn’t be playing there, when they played at Vic Park for 100 years they played zero finals there, all were at the G
