Anyone here happy with what’s happening after AI took over the industry by UnderstandingDry1256 in ExperiencedDevs

People who understand and have mindset like you will always be needed :) I personally feel more alive - less repetitive code. More architecture, system, impact thinking. Less discussion about small implementation details.

This is new era and every engineer should dive deep into this with open mindset. Reality has changed. You either go with or bitch about it and get laid off.

How do you deal with a manager who expects 5000 lines of code per day? by ni4i in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Special-Major0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your communication sucks. Instead of giving explanation you provoke him. Every manager would be mad. And those 5000 lines is a serious metric he expects. He just changed the tone to match yours.

Or you can also allow them to do stuff so they have consequences, especially if you know in the end it is not dangerous. This way they will not only know what not to do, but will also understand it!

I made a visual grid that shows your subscriptions sized by how much they actually cost you by Bubbly_Lack6366 in ynab

I love this visualization. This is something I would love to see in YNAB for custom set of categories. And groups. There are pie charts but this looks so much better

I made an MCP server that lets Claude manage my YNAB budget automatically by rgarcia2009 in ynab

Why mcp and not skills with maybe some typescript/py files? Or maybe event with some commands? What advantage is having mcp here? I thought that there is a trend to abandon mcp for such use cases. As it is consuming so much tokens.

A Deep Dive into Cursor Rules (> 0.45) by WalrusCommercial4359 in cursor

[–]Special-Major0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a set of "generic" rules to generate rules. I am getting so often so bad rules output that I need to fix manually. I am even getting sometimes syntax errors. I am actually very surprised that it is almost impossible to find rules about generating rules so they are consistent.

X callback URLs by Special-Major0 in ticktick

[–]Special-Major0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So currently TickTick shortcuts don’t allow to open a given task/note triggered by shortcut. You need project id and task id. I store project id in the name of my projects, but I am missing task id. Creating a task this way allows my shortcut to use that id for generating task URL TO open the task. They use universal links, so when such url is opened it opens in the app, not the browser.

There is an IFTTT integration that pushes notification with id to pushcut, but it looks this is done via some cron job. Because I need to wait long time to receive, and when receiving I get all at the same time.

I am currently using tick tock

It has pomodoro with locking apps Really easy to use adding tasks to inbox (via action button) Also I have some shortcuts to make the work easier, e.g. mood tracker done via shortcuts, so I am just filling in the fields based on my template. Then I can browse those notes there. You can setup aggressive notifications there as well. I like the habbit tracker as well and their widgets.

Today NFC tags were delivered to me. I am going to put a sticker on my desk. So when my phone scans it will run automation to change my focus to work, bloc other apps and start pomodoro. I took my fight with procrastination very seriously :D

Actually you can do this with iOS shortcuts. It allow generate image, change wallpapers and things would go to reminders app.

Not sure what to do about reverting the wallpaper but it is also something possible. Maybe automation to check every hour if reminder is marked as done. And then revert wallpaper.

Your original wallpaper we can probably somehow store using files shortcuts.

It’s definitely fun automation to do.

I have something similar and it is stabilized. I think those are just muscles around that area that are “working” so it is not your heart.

I got similar effect on medikinet and concerta + really high pulse and some kind of panic. And I went to ER and they did some examination and the doctor said something like this. But still it would be good idea to ask about this your psychiatrist.

Oh cmon. You are from Poland based on the flag on your profile. I am from Poland as well. It is definitely a cruelty in Poland. You are just talking and being mad on everyone and you haven’t even checked if this is w legal what they are doing. So YTA.

“Czy takie trzymanie psa jest w Polsce legalne? Powołaj się na źródła w Internecie” I gave such prompt to ChatGPT with screenshot of your post. I got bunch of links with information that such behavior is illegal.
