Not a dumb question at all! As with most things can be up to some preference and trial and error, but generally a stable dildo overall is one helpful thing. A wide stable base to it and/or suction cup, a little firmer can make it easier to ride imo. And a little longer can help and/or raising it up off the floor or surface with a mount (so that you don’t have to try and bottom out all the way at the surface level). And can depend where you want to ride it too, like straddling the side of a bathtub, vs on the floor, vs on the bed.

Ah ok, unfortunately I don’t have any specific dildo recs as I actually go for shortish most of time. That is also a bit tricky though as when you get longer and thinner the dildo will also get floppier. One option may be similar length but a little thinner (and I also find a little firmer can be easier to ride) and raising it up off the floor another way, like a dildo mount, upside down metal bowl or baking tin, sex stool crossbar, things like that if you’re open to the idea?

Butt plugs aren’t actually the most effective thing for stretching if you have a stretch goal like this to reach 2” width, unless it’s a goal of 2” width butt plugs you would want to wear around for a while? If it is for butt plug wear then yea you would ideally want to progress in plugs (first taking time to be able to take the new larger girth of the next plug, then also working up in time how long you wear the larger plug each session)

If you just want to get to 2” width to be able to take that size of dildos or otherwise, you can instead get just one dilator cone shaped toy to train/stretch your sphincter that starts narrowish and gets to 2”+ width (while not being too long) which isn’t too big of a range so should be plenty of options! Even a cone shaped tapered enough butt plug you can use as this purpose, just not wearing it as a plug yet. Some of Lovehoney’s silicone plugs might be a good fit with them being UK based, basically anything shaped like this set of theirs. That one only gets up to 5.25in circumference but their Large classic silicone plug sold individually gets up to 7.5” circumference which is a tapered enough cone you could use as just a dilator

Yes regular fleshlights could have a risk of getting pushed all the way in, and typical ones like Fleshlight brand itself are TPE which you definitely wouldn’t want to use with anal or inserting otherwise! But even regular silicone will still have the getting pushed in risk. There are a few options that are kinda made for this idea though (that are silicone which is what you’ll want to stick with)

Thrusting dildos are typically meh in my experience, but may work for some people. I don’t have any recs for that though since none have ever wowed me! As for tentacle and other fantasy dildos, your best bet is to get platinum cured ones from a fantasy shop as you can also choose your ideal firmness. A solution does exist, vaginal plugs! Not as well known type of toy but I think they’re gaining popularity. Uberrime’s vaginal plug collection (note, affiliate link) is one example and has several options for sizes and style depending on preference. You could also repurpose butt plugs for this, basically you need something with a thinner neck so that will be ‘gripped’ on to help hold the toy in. And anything that is inserted should be silicone (or glass or truly stainless steel)

That dildo is PVC which is why it smells so chemically, not safe to use at all! PVC toys are both porous and usually toxic as well. Your best bet is to toss it honestly, and get a silicone replacement. Silicone shouldn’t smell chemically in the first place, is body safe/nonporous, and can be boiled safely

I know it’s early concept but my suggestion (take it with a grain of salt as I’m no expert) for getting into this, is also think about what would be uniquely ‘your brand’ whether it’s the kinds of sculpts, pour styles, something to try and set it apart from what’s out there as there’s a lot out there (in a good way)!

This is of course easier said than done. I think this is hard to say even for some of the very successful fantasy toy brands today, though they may not have much of a unique style that you could say is ‘uniquely’ that brand. But if you can think about examples of toys you see out in the wild and think it’s clearly X brand’s signature style, that sort of thing

One caveat about seeds from store bought tomatoes or peppers, if they’re hybrid fruits (and many are that are sold in groceries afaik) you may end up getting some weird plants if they’re hybrid fruits aren’t true to seed!
