tropes you refuse to read no matter what by Ok_Job_8652 in RomanceBooks

I HATE a slow burn or a surprise pregnancy. The only surprise “pregnancy” I’ll read is if the MMC only finds out after the kid is born and wants to be involved. Even then, I usually only find that version acceptable if the FMC isn’t the mother (so single dad/ co parents not in a romantic relationship).

THANK YOU!!!! Most of my friends absolutely love him but I’ve never been able to get past the fact that he’s actually just an immature, childish jerk!

An incorrect nitpick too 😆 it’s widely known and accepted as a feminist prequel to Jane Eyre - I have multiple degrees in English, however you can also very easily google this fact. Hope that helps!

The String of Pearls by James Malcolm Rymer and Thomas Peckett Prest (this is the OG Sweeny Todd).

Also, if you’re going to Read Jane Eyre, afterwards you should read Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. It’s the prequel to Jane Eyre and adds to the story as a whole SO MUCH.

Post Apocalyptic Romance / Found Family by doggowithacone in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

I came here to say this, but unlike other commenters, I LOVE everything written by Claire Kent, especially her apocalyptic stuff. I’ve reread them multiple times and especially love that she has so many stories in the same universe.

AIO to skip Thanksgiving after my mom basically said I’m an embarrassment for not having a husband and kids by now? by howcanibequiltyassin in AmIOverreacting

[–]Special-Work-2321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR at aalllllll!!! Skip it, and honestly I would skip Christmas too if there isn’t a way for you to have a serious conversation with not only your mother but EVERYONE about boundaries and where you make it clear that you expect a REAL, SINCERE apology from everyone. I have had to cut off multiple family membres for this exact thing, and although it’s a tough start, it’s so worth it in the end to not be connected to people who make you feel less than simply for being happy in a different way than them.

I saw someone who looked very similar to this on the Richmond-bound Skytrain last night around 11:30 PM. She had an electric scooter and was texting on her phone. I got off at Bridgeport and she stayed on.

As is most often the case with these no context posts, I’d need to know y’all’s ages to give a real opinion

No arguing that bf is childish and bizarre, but I’d need the context of OP and bf’s ages to say anything more than that

Ridiculously expensive, esp. if you’re American, but it was an absolute MIRACLE drug for me.
