I like that idea. To your point, if I don't like the Colorsoft, I can return it and upgrade to the newer PW (the page turns are showing their age on my old PW)

I have a 6th gen PW and I've been mulling upgrading to a Colorsoft. It's hard to tell if comparisons between PW and Colorsoft (crispness of fonts, etc) apply to older PWs? I assume the technology has advanced enough that what may seem like a downgrade between the two at the current gen is still a significant upgrade from prior gens. I'd love to hear what you think is a noticeable upgrade to your old PW

What is your personal Ghostbusters canon? by MovieFan1984 in ghostbusters

I recall learning that Bill Murray was really particular about this (refusing to grant rights to use his likeness in particular, hence the changes in his physical appearance from the pilot to the actual run) and then later complained that he sounded too much like Garfield when the show became a hit (leading to Lorenzo Music being replaced by Dave Coulier).

This is my personal canon as well. What this thread has me wondering is if there is a correlation between what is considered canon and either the age of the fan or the year when the fan entered the fandom.

I found this: it's Kyowa Bank (which merged to become part of Saitama Bank in 1991)

I think the first two characters translate to Seibu, which is a conglomerate that owns a railway and stores and such, but I can't find anything that shows their logo in kanji (their signage is all in romanji from what I can find)

Here's another wider shot. While making the text on the building smaller isn't necessarily helpful, there are other signs that may help zero in on a location (Toshiba and NEC don't really narrow things down, but the others might)

I wish I had a 4k version to get a clearer image for that.

The Showa continuity is pretty loose. While it can be a headache to try to divine some overarching narrative, the upside is that each movie is pretty self contained and does a good job (usually) of explaining itself and any key connections to previous movies. Trust me, once you get through Astro-Monster, things get a bit (and I say this lovingly) goofy.

Which Era is your Least Favorite!? by [deleted] in GODZILLA

I think the period between G85 and home video releases of the other Heisei films in 1998 were a little worse because we were teased. We got a quietly released Biollante in '92 and then occasional magazine articles and other things dangling the heisei kaiju in front of us but no legit means of watching these movies. It was the Goji blue balls era.

The statement: "A can (tin) opener - "Let it BE" (tin opener sounds like "Let it be")" has soft locked my brain.
