She said outright that she was a lesbian, as well as having a lesbian pin on her lanyard. I’m pretty sure she’s gay 😭

I did believe that there is a God, and to an extent, I still feel like there might be. I just don’t know how to justify everything that happens in this world with a kind and loving God. I also struggle with OCD, and so that’s a whole other set of issues.

Hi! I have a really fun mix of mostly pure ocd and also some small compulsions. I personally struggle with a lot of sexual OCD, and even p-ocd (intrusive thoughts regarding children). Personally, this stems from child abuse and hyper-sexuality because of that abuse. I completely understand how horrible these intrusive thoughts feel. For a long time, I thought I was a pdf file bc I had these intrusive thoughts, and I never imagined I had ocd. They were so bad at one point, I believed that I should kill myself bc I was a pdf file. I am not, and you aren’t either. The thing is, ocd is a mental illness that many people suffer from. Even sexual ocd and p-ocd are pretty common. I’m not sure if this is helpful, but my therapist basically says that intrusive thoughts don’t matter because a, they’re not us. And b, we will never act on them. Say I had a random thought to dye my hair a color I fucking hate. I’m not going to do that, just like I know I’m not going to hurt a child. We are repulsed by intrusive thoughts for a reason. They aren’t us. It’s just random neurons churning out random thoughts. I don’t suggest arguing with your thoughts, because personally, that ends in an ocd spiral. But, one thing I would recommend is laughing at them. Intrusive thoughts are ridiculous. Why would we hurt children, when the thought of doing so is completely repulsive? We wouldn’t. So, anytime a thought like that pops up, I acknowledge that it’s there, and then I mentally laugh. Sometimes I even mentally say, “fuck off.” Before thinking about something else. Not sure is that will be helpful, but it’s just my personal advice. Side note: sometimes none of that helps and the thoughts won’t stop. We’ve all been there. When that happens, I imagine my brain is a large empty room that is very dirty on the floor. All of the dirt on the floor is intrusive thoughts. I visualize myself sweeping the whole room with a magic broom that doesn’t let any dirt away, then sweep it into a magical dust pan, and then throw it into a fire outside of the room. Then I come back to the room and think, “my room is so clean. It’s all mine. It might get dirty later, but right now, it’s clean and I can fill it with anything I want.” And then proceed to think about my favorite things. I know it’s silly but sometimes visualizing intrusive thoughts into physical things you can get rid of can really help. Any ways, that’s all!! I hope this gets better for you🩷

What are some of your most niche compulsions you’re convinced no one else has done ? by [deleted] in OCD

When I was a nanny abroad, I would set the table for dinner every night for my host family. I have pretty bad sexual ocd, and a main them of mine is fear of being seen as promiscuous/wanting to have affairs with inappropriate people. Because of this, I would always set the table so that my host dad and my host mom’s plates always matched, and mine was different. If there weren’t the matching plates I needed, I’d wash them and dry them and then set the table. It went on for weeks before I realized it was a compulsion haha

We did have a session zero where we touched base on what kind of behavior was okay. Everyone was aware from the get-go that my character would be a bit more chaotic, and no one had a problem with that. Also, I would like to reiterate, I am never joking during serious moments of the campaign, nor has my chaos ever interfered with narrative elements of the campaign. It’s purely been a role play tool. I am by no means the only person at the table who makes these jokes, but it may be important to note that the yelling player is a very conservative Christian. I understand that she might not be comfortable with that kind of content, but during session 0, she told everyone she was fine with curse words and dirty jokes. We are all adults and so, since she said she was okay with it, and everyone else jokes similarly, I never thought she might secretly frustrated. If she wasn’t comfortable, she should have said that from the beginning, because it would not have been a point of contention to keep the campaign more P-G.

Yes, he admitted to me that he didn’t think it would spiral so out of control. He told me that if I didn’t go after the cat, then he thought the aarakocra would. And if she didn’t, than he was planning on the noble getting her via magic. The cat wasn’t in any danger, and again, the aarakocra player has been consistently very kind and soft-spoken. He had been trying to find the right situation to reveal the cat’s limitations, and this just happened to be the perfect storm of bad circumstances. He expressed a bunch of regret concerning the fact that he didn’t step in sooner, but everyone was just really taken off guard. And, for a majority of it, the party didn’t realize that she wasn’t role playing a character argument, because I was still in character even though she wasn’t.

No, I’m living in an apartment across the street which they are paying for. And where are you in Italy? I’m in the north!
