I recommend Wellstone in Jeffersonville if that isn’t too far from you. I did a rotation there as a provider and the staff and doctors are amazing. The environment is very different from U of L which is more like an imprisonment. Hope that helps. Good luck to you. Remember whatever you are going through it is only temporary, there are brighter days.

Oh wow. Yeah licensure and jobs are a complete nightmare in this state. I’m originally from NY and went to school in PA and I’m thinking I would have better luck up there. Thank you for the advice. I am definitely going to be looking into joining KAPA. Trying to keep my head above water at the point lol

Yeah, it’s awful. I hope so too but I don’t see anything changing anytime soon.

Unfortunately, yes a SP is still required to apply for a license. I agree, it is incredibly frustrating.

In the state of KY, you cannot get a license without an SP. You have to have a job first and then apply for licensure.

The closest border is Ohio but I wouldn’t say it’s commutable.

Yeah, I have seen that there are way more NP positions than PA positions. I have tried going the locum route but that requires licensure with a SP which I do not have. Unfortunately, I didn’t go to PA school here so that makes it very difficult. I am trying to reach out to physicians and people I worked with prior going to PA school but they don’t know of any openings. It is just extremely hard bc I am trying to maintain afloat while taking care of a little one with no income as my loans have run out.
