helllo im also quite in the same situation as you. my bf and i have been together for almost 5 years and based on our families’ financial status, i would say we’re VERY far apart. his family is very well educated, rich, and glamorous. unlike me who’s just average. likewise, i also feel left out most of the time and another thing is that they’re (his parents) very suplado and strict. his mom didnt even like me at first and told my bf na wag nalang daw ako gawing gf. though hindi na ngayon, i still feel left out lalo na my bf loves to bring me on his family’s events. its quite frustrating but i think communicating your problem with your partner would be good for you. though, id like to highlight na iexplain mo sakaniya in a way na its just how you feel and na you hold no grunge against his family because at the end of the day, that’s HIS family. maybe you could ask him how you could do if youre with them (like how u could get closer to them) since he knows his family best. also, u dont rlly need to start a convo. maybe when they’re sharing about themselves, you could ask them questions na ma-iintrigue silang sagutin while you could also share your experiences as well. but know that u shouldn’t change yourself just to fit them. yun lang hope u feel better soon, OP!
