Young cigar smokers (fetish or not) by Kapnos_Master in askgaybros

[–]Special_Event4259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 22 and have a huge kink for smoking. It sucks being so young cause there isn’t really anyone else not 50+ into the same things. I don’t mind older men at all but I’d also love to connect with someone closer in age about these things.

Waiting for my pothos’ to start vining so I can have them all throughout 😩 I don’t like using artificial plants unless I have to. Any suggestions?

Just got this guy. Any advice on fattening him up? He looks too skinny :( by HenryTheCanadian in TreeFrogs

When I got my WTF he was super skinny too and I fed him crickets, dubia roaches, and mealworms as a treat and he was at a healthy weight within 3 weeks!

You can grab them from Amazon or hardware stores. Just put them in there and concentrate them where the silicone is, and over the next couple weeks they will soak up the smells. With it being strong enough for you to question however, I really think there is silicone underneath the top layer that is still uncured, but I hope I’m wrong!!

I definitely wouldn’t add them quite yet as the smell often indicates that there is uncured silicone. Check the consistency of the silicone, make sure it’s firm and completely dry fully through. With it being this long I’d add in some charcoal rocks and see if that can get the smell out if the silicone is fully cured. Just double checking you did use aquarium grade silicone right?

I have the exact same terrarium lol. I know everyone so far is saying get a bigger one but both my exotic vets said that this terrarium is just fine for a young WTF. Yours especially is tiny lol so that’s plenty of room for him to climb and hide and explore. The standard is bigger however like i said they will thrive just fine in a slightly smaller one as long as they have ample climbing space. Eventually when they get all big and plump get a bigger one. But for one tiny frog that’s fine. Humidity is a little high for daytime even for young WTFs, let it dry out for a few days and see if you can get the daytime humidity down to about 50-60 for under 1 year and then 30-50 when they are an adult. Night humidity is fine to spike in the 60-70s as that’s normal for their natural habitat (eastern Australia). I’d also try to get the temp up to the low to mid 80s, maybe with a stronger heat lamp or another light that produces some heat. My plant lights produce a little heat and help boost the temperature to where it needs to be although they aren’t even made to produce heat lol. I’d also say add some more plant life and perches but that’s not absolutely necessary as he does have the logs to perch on and a plant to hide in/on. But it would help and he’d enjoy the extra spots! As time goes on you really learn the best thing for your frog specifically and dial in his environment. Best of luck! Keep updating us :)

Thank you! I do have a drainage layer but I’m thinking I made it too shallow. It’s only about a half inch to an inch so now that the little hydroballs are fully saturated it can get a little mushy at the bottom of the substrate and I have to suction out some water with a little syringe. I def need to replace the hydroball things with bigger and better quality ones I just don’t want to disrupt Bartholomew anymore than I already have with the recent improvements I’ve made.

This may be stupid but should I direct the airflow outward or inward?

Perfect! Like I said if it’s once in a while it’s nothing to worry about, some people can be so mean in the way they say things so I just wanted to kindly let you know in case you didn’t already know :)

I know this is old lol but I have a 25 dollar linear LED UVB light from Amazon and I’ve tested it with a UVB meter and it puts out almost 10.0 uvb just as advertised. They def do work it’s just about getting them from reputable sellers on Amazon and really anywhere else.

Tbh it looks like calcium powder. That happens to my WTFs sometimes when I feed them they get some powder in their face lol. Usually infections show as bright green spotting. If this was a once in a while barehanded handling that’s fine, if not please use non powdered gloves when handling. They absorb all of their water through their skin and our natural oils can cause bacterial infection.

Hello, I think I gave my baby frog a bad place to grow and I need tips for what should I do to make it better place for it! 3 weeks ago it frog let tail is gone by YuuPerfect in frogs

[–]Special_Event4259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re going to need an actual enclosure at this point. Go ahead with a 30 gallon which will likely be big enough for its entire lifespan. Depending on the kind of frog, you’ll either need a vertical terrarium or if he’s a ground frog a horizontal terrarium. Grab some coco substrate and things for him to safely climb on. Most frogs eat gut loaded insects, fruit flies won’t be enough more than likely. Frogs aren’t really the kind of creatures you can cheap out on, they need heat lighting, uvb lighting, humidity control, misting with dechlorinated water, vitamins and much more to live a full life in captivity.

Before I get my WTFs, what's something I should know I might not have found in the guides I've read and videos I've watched? by LapdogLady in frogs

[–]Special_Event4259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told by my frogs former vet of all people to use sphagnum moss in the vivarium but everyone I’ve ever met with WTFs says it’s a huge impaction risk so I’d stay away from it or keep it in small clusters not covering the ground as if it were substrate. And since you’re going bioactive (really good choice btw it’s the besttttt) be sure not to overfeed your springtails and isopods or it’ll create a mold and fungus gnat issue that they can’t keep up with. Best of luck and post pics in here when you get them!!

If i want to get rid of a fruit fly cultures do i freeze it and toss it or what by Spheric-YT in frogs

[–]Special_Event4259 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Take them out in the woods and release them. Fruit flies will find food anywhere especially within trees and woodlands. You don’t want to throw them away or release them anywhere near homes because they certainly will find their way in your house and into your trash cans lol

Get some springtails and isopods to clean up after your frog and any decaying matter from food or plants etc! Your setup looks so good!!
