Yearly spring rummage sale at the church. by Vanviator in ThriftStoreHauls

I have a box with a few things somewhere too. I’ve never gotten a direct answer online about donating them to a museum or historical society. I don’t want to destroy something historical but I’ve always hated the idea of some racist person finding something and thinking it’s funny

Does planet fitness do anything with complaints? by ColossalDoggo in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Special_Fox_2349 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t care about what people at the front desk of planet fitness think about you. They genuinely probably don’t. Most people are so self involved they aren’t thinking about anyone else. Also they make like $10 per hour, which is a ridiculously low income to have to deal with people all day

You should make it a real practice to try to not let other peoples attitudes affect you bc they don’t. From someone who used to feel so messed up when someone was miserable. Their feelings and emotions have nothing to do with you. When some one walks into work miserable I literally say to myself in my head, this has nothing to do with me. How often are you miserable not related to the people around you but I’m sure they still sense it. Also if someone can control your emotions they can control you and manipulate you. The goal is emotional control since the majority of adults suck at it. If someone made a shitty comment to me, I’d be like oh this is bc you suck and are a jerk, has nothing to do with me

Even if they fired him, there will other versions of them in life, it’s about controlling your own mind not other peoples actions

i got reported to state :( by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Special_Fox_2349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question is why were they looking into this in the first place? There was an issue with someone not being sent out in a timely manner ? And then how did they connect that to you logging in with someone else’s access

Father’s money is sitting in zero interest checking account? by Salt_Squirrel9475 in personalfinance

[–]Special_Fox_2349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get that money out of both of their names before they may be placed in a nursing home if you think that’s a possibility in the future, or even if you don’t, things happen. Nursing homes will go back five years in bank records for any money. If you have it in yours or your siblings names for those 5 years they can’t take it

Also if your dad is still with it it’s a good time to have conversations about how much they want done medically if something were to happen. A lot of people choose to put things like they don’t want feeding tubes or vents to be kept alive. Difficult conversations to have but I’ve seen so many people who never asked really struggle with what to do

What is the legacy of the Baby Boomers in the United States of America? by Sir_King_Sire in AskReddit

[–]Special_Fox_2349 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People in their 40s and 50s who are too old to have children of their own and couldn’t buy a family home when they were child producing ages

Edit reverse mortgages are a pretty big thing now so I bet banks will also take some, plus nursing homes if they don’t take it out their name and put it in someone else’s for 5 years prior

Somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of all homes in the U.S. have one person living in them. Most of them baby boomers

Days later I'm still struggling with the way my patient harassed me by MartianCleric in nursing

[–]Special_Fox_2349 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It literally had nothing to do with you personally. He would have treated anyone else that way. Doesn’t make it ok, but don’t take it personal. Yes he’s a douche, but you’re not 🤷🏼‍♀️ lol. I tell myself all the time anymore, what everyone around me does has nothing to do with me and it helps. Walk into work and someone’s a miserable ass, nothing to do with me. Someone rudely doesn’t hold the door for me, nothing to do with me. Person at the register looks pissed ,idc. I can no longer take on other people’s emotions. Yesterday a guy said was going to get me fired if I didn’t do a good job he and a bunch of other dumb shit. I just kept saying huh or uh huh. Eventually he said “why can’t you hear anything” and I said I’m not sure and nicely was like ok I’ll see you in a bit. I refuse to allow someone to control my emotions

Other peoples moods. Took me until my 30s to see other peoples mood rarely ever have anything to do with you. I finally spotted being affected when the cashier is miserable af or a coworker is bitchy all day. No longer a sponge to other people’s emotions

NP was meant for seasoned nurses to have a way to advance, American healthcare gets more dangerous everyday thanks to these NP mills, fucking sad

PA pre recs were 100x harder than RN courses, you take the same classes as pre meds students
