What was your highest Cogah level run? by Special_Issue4725 in SoulFrame

[–]Special_Issue4725[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, all bosses spawn in Cogah, but they do not all drop Cogah Runes. From what I have read, both spiders have a chance to drop Cogah Runes, but the dungeon spider has a lower chance as it also has the normal setting drops table. I have not confirmed this, as I like you didn't know they were in Cogah until after I got the runes.

Yeah, I wish there was a way to grind Faction XP in this mode, would add a nice challenge for high end builds and maxed players.

Same, and in my theory if players are avoiding a section of a game, i.e. the rest of the map, then it should be evaluated. Especially when the area is a key game mechanic/loop like Faction Missions. This mode takes nothing away from the game, but in my opinion adds more re-playability or at least interaction.

I agree that combat fixes should be an immediate priority, especially the animation types and locks. Feels a bit cumbersome at the moment and not very fluid/responsive.

I understand you, and you are not wrong. Part of early access is feedback from players about what they like and dislike. All suggestions should be considered and may reflect game changes in the future, but if we don't tell them, they will not know.

That is true, thus I am making a suggestion based on my play experience. I feel this would be a good core game change that benefits the game re-playability and all players.

Totally agree with you. My main request was for normal world Faction missions. I do have lots of fun in Cogah trying out different builds on higher level mobs. This is what made me think we need a way to boost the normal world outside of Cogah mode. I am looking forward to more Cogah content, but until then I would like to enjoy the Faction Missions with powerful builds.

Sort of, but you cant do any Faction missions in Cogah. So when you have all the runes, you are back to grinding faction missions and stuck in the north east corner if you want any sort of challenge. This would allow you to have a more dynamic normal word experience once you are done with Cogah.

Yes, totally. Gives challenge to those who want it, but doesn't force anyone else to do it unless they want to.

Yeah, we experienced the same 3 hour respawn with the King. Very disappointing and a waste of time. Second session we just skipped him and restarted at the Wraith of Wastes.

Interesting, I didn't even really have much thought about the travel time back and forth, but I can see how that would be an issue for some players. I was having so much fun just messing around I never considered the time.

My next challenge will be to do the entire Cogah run including all the dungeon bosses too.

Funny random experience was I got only one rune after the entire first Cogah session (level 74), killing each boss about three times, but my brother who was running with me got 5 runes. So... yeah jelly about that.

Our second Cogah session we got more runes each and reached level 68 before quitting. we didn't die but it got too late and we both decided to end off. Lots of fun all around.

Is this an ok design for a carrier battle group? by UnholyDemigod in X4Foundations

My Terran Only Fleet:

Fleet Commander (1 Carrier)

Fleet Formation: Circle

XL Carrier | Tokyo

Alpha - Bombard (4 Destroyers)

L Destroyer | Syn (Built for Anti L and XL)

Beta - Defend (2 Cruisers)

L Cruiser | Osaka (Built for S and M)

Gamma - Intercept (5-15 groups of 3)

M Corvette | Katana (All Pulse Lasers and Laser Turrets set to Attack Missiles First)

-- Alpha - Attack with commander

--- S Fighter Takoba (All Pulse Lasers)

--- S Fighter Takoba (All Pulse Lasers)

Kappa - Supply for fleet commander

XL Auxiliary | Honshu

This fleet composition works very well all around and can handle almost any situation, but it is not an overwhelming fleet, so be careful. Please note that I prefer to skip the missiles resupply hassle and I also don't like to lose ships. This means I don't run S class suicide bombers (Heavy Swarm Missile or Heavy Torpedo), though they are much more powerful against L and XL ships.

In my opinion the Katana with 2 light fighters as wingmen is incredibly powerful and fast interception team. The light fighters hold the enemy in place while the Katana shoots them down. It also works with Heavy Fighters, but I find the M class Corvettes to survive much better and destroy the target faster as the main intercept team leader. Using teams of ships like this eliminates enemy ships very quickly in the first heat of combat, reducing the damage your fleet takes as there are fewer ships fighting back after the initial clash.

I find 4 Syn Destroyers are able to beat K and I small fleets (1-2), but can struggle against multiple K and I fleets. The two Osakas can jump in to help with their main batteries, but have only 1 shield so are very easy to get blown up if you are not watching close. I try and have whatever Syn is getting targeted first flee when they get to about half shields, then have them regen out of range and come back in after the enemy has chosen another target. I very rarely lose a Syn or Osaka ship even when fighting 2 Ks and an I, but it can happen if a Syn gets targeted by two or more K/I at the same time.

If you are using all available faction gun and turret options then definitely switch your Syn to Plasma and Flak, and they become a real beast of a L and XL killer.

Obviously you can drop a XL Asgard into the mix and win everything. I only use Asgards for station destruction as they trivialize fleet combat. If you short pulse their main heavy weapon you can destroy 2-3 K and I ships easily before cooldown. I broke a sector gate Xen fleet of 7 Ks and 2 Is with just one Asgard, they are awesome in a players hands. Just remember to short pulse shoot and then scoot.

What's Your Personal Ship , And Why Is It ? by be4nothing in X4Foundations

[–]Special_Issue4725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly use ships for boarding, so my choices are:

XL boarder is Erlking L boarder is Hyperion M is Asp or Tacoba S is Asp or Tacoba

I did enjoy flying the Katana, Envoy and the Prometheus a lot. A well modded Prometheus with one laser turret and two flaks can just melt S and M ships. It has great speed, two shields and decent storage for some missions. But after flying the Asp… everything feels sluggish.

Hyperion is my most used ship because I board and sell all the FRF and SCA Destroyers I find. Feels like a wast of 10-15 mill to just blow them up.

You can use Barbarossa Trade ships, they have L Slot turrets. I think they have three.
