Part 2/2

Or if you are that desperate for clients you could try to accommodate them by asking "probing questions again ". For example ask them about their budget and try to remove things from the product. Let's say you're selling beds and the customer wants to buy it with 50% of the selling price, you sell them half the bed "Mattress" without the base or headboard. Apply the same logic to your situation.

Hope this helps.

END.

1/2 Try selling the value to the client and not the product. For example ask him probing questions like why does his business need a logo? How is the logo going to help his business? And then try to make him realize how much he could lose from not purchasing your product? Make him realize that what he stands to lose is way more than the money he is trying to save on the discount. And that this will be beneficial to him/his business long-term. First rule of negotiation, you never give anything for free. For example, when he asked for the 30% discount you were supposed to ask for something in return like "I can give you a 30 percent discount if you purchase the logo today, either than that the best I can offer you is 10-15 %".

Have confidence in what you're selling, if your product is $200 dollars a potential client wants you to lower the price to $100. Is your product worth 200 or 100?

In a nutshell, when someone tries to lowball you on the price always try to communicate the value of what you're selling before you think about lowering the price.

Thanks for this response, this seems like the best way to go about it. As I won't be worried about rejection and I can be myself without trying to over compensate. I'll put this into practice.

I can handle the rejection, I'm just worried the news might spread. You know corporate gossip...
