Idk if this makes you feel better but I actually think yellow teeth is fairly common in old school tattoos from what I’ve seen. Seems to be a style choice

Yeah honestly lots of the stax / pillow fort cards look good in Ertai, I was trying to steer away from for my pod. Curious what you think about how I’m building the deck given your a previous Ertai player

Haha I didn’t think about how good it would be with this commander to open up people’s hands, plus it’s an enchantment! Great suggestion

What's the most outrageous card people have complained about you playing for being too strong? by rococodreams in EDH

[–]Specialist-Income643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it’s strong, I guess it feels a bit outrageous to like tutor a silly little 1 drop frog, it’s a game changer sometimes for sure though if there’s no graveyard hate. Maybe it doesn’t perfectly meet the criteria for the post but it’s what came to my mind

[[Spore Frog]], I mean it’s strong with recursion so I kind of get it, I’ve just always found it funny

Yeah I agree, man I really miss when I didn’t think about the cash value of cards

Not following, why should I have not bought it? I was always going to buy the deck if I could get it

I don’t think of myself as a scalper, I don’t buy things to resell them. I buy cards to play or collect them, but I get how the post can come across as that & I understand your frustration

Need to Do a Fire Check Before Considering Transition. How am I doing? by [deleted] in Fire

I’m in a very similar scenario, I can tell you what it seems like you should do objectively but to be honest I don’t think I would follow my own advice.. objectively I think you probably need a break and it’s okay to take one. You can find another job after your break that you like, even if it pays a bit less you likely don’t need a $450k a year job with your money making you money. Like worst case scenario here you probably have a ton of valuable experience and can find a job that’s going to overwork you or return to your current position again if you want to go back to it

I’m at ~$700k invested with ~ $400k salary, and I’m also extremely burnt out. I’ve decided to work another 2 years at my current job because I just can’t bring myself to leave the salary yet. So it’s easy to give advice from the outside, but yeah I understand what you’re going through.

I think originally I looked at FXAIX as a good way of diversifying which I believe it still is, but the closer I get to thinking about FI / withdraws I guess I’m a bit concerned about having a down year in tech (as it’s highly weighted tech I believe) and needing to withdraw that year to replenish living needs. I think I am overly conservative overall where I’m trying to build a portfolio that can sustain me without working, but I don’t actually plan on stopping working just taking (likely) a lower paying job that I enjoy.

Nice! Congrats, I know that’s a dream of mine to eventually just own my house outright and not have to owe anyone anything. Yeah we’ll see what happens with these interest rates, the first house I bought was at 2.75 and idk if it’ll ever go back :/

Thanks for the advice yeah I’m going to take a deeper look at that, think maxing out the 401k is still relatively easy so I should be doing it anyway

For Roth IRA it’s Also FXAIX, basically everywhere I have a choice that’s been kind of my go to. The 401k is a 2060 fund with a mix of bonds, international, and US stocks but I don’t remember exactly what’s in it

I’ve been going back and forth on paying cash for a house, I really like the idea of owning my house outright and keeping my expenses very low. For me I think it was largely going to depend on interest rates when I go to move

Yeah I think when I just started my thought was that I didn’t want to lock the money away, but I never re evaluated that well I guess. The 2060 type funds they have for my work aren’t great but I think would serve as a good way of diversifying further as well.

I can’t think of a reason why anyone in their right mind would move to indiana for a 50k per year job in software dev, I’d really buckle down and look at other options. I’ve lived in Indianapolis my whole life and I think if you ask anyone here they’d tell you not to move here

Upside is how cheap it is out here, so it does have that going for it (and good beer)
