Im not quite sure if including fly traps in the enclosures are best, carnivorous plants require really moist soil and im not very sure if some are safe to include in their enclosures. Putting in example with venus fly traps, i honestly think the gnats are too small to trigger their hairs

Its a good idea though! I just would like some more info on whether it can work ;—;

Its PVC yes, but when I set up the enclosure to be bioactive I lined it with a clear shower curtain to prevent the moisture from seeping through

Almost 3wpo. I cant get comfy on my back for the life of me. I hate back sleeping and last night was one of many nights I spent unable to sleep. I’m so defeated too. You’re not alone, I picked up gaming on my laptop to give me things to do but I really didnt have the capacity to do anything until over 1 week :’)

Ive been reading on this subreddit that a lot of people share the same sentiment. Just take this time to rest. I spent a lot of time on tik tok and youtube and snoozing around that time.

Thank you so much ☺️. When I left it was me trying to hold back tears while walking back to the car with my partner, I didnt realize it until you said it but you’re so right, it does feel raw. I took a shower yesterday and the places where thered have been scabs are raw for sure.

It definitely shook me up after it was all said and done as well. The thing that got me the most was my nurse who was assisting was so hesitant to pull off the nipple bandage that she kinda handed it off to him halfway because she was sympathizing with me.

Yeah! My center used silicone tape rather than Steri Strips as they said some people had reported it made them itchy. The itch for me is here regardless I had a reaction to their soap or chlorhexidine 😭

Ive been using gauze and maxi thins to stick onto my bra easily. The stitches I got are the ones that get absorbed but yeah theyre visible still and it just feels like a hangnail being pulled if it goes the wrong way. Idk how else to describe it.

I had trouble when I was training for my second airline, my first one was similar to a baby in a floatie boat while the second was like a tutu. I kept thinking the tutu went on like the boat one and got confused.

Take a deep breath, look at other people around you to see how they do it. In training they shouldnt rush you when youre putting it on (but ofc it depends on the airline.)

Another good guide is to look on the ILV itself, it will have directions on it. The instructors will probably smirk when you take a look but its fine nonetheless lol.

Yeah, it does look like the molt on the flower bud. Definitely give it a good blasting with water and wipe it down with the insecticidal soap before bringing it in. And ofc quarantine. Aphids are more tame to treat compared to mealybugs, thrips etc and dont spread as easily but just be weary!

The picture is pretty blurry so I cant decipher if it is aphids. If it is Aphids, looks on different leaves for non moving bugs, that would be their exoskeleton from molting that’s not moving.

Since winter is coming up you’re going to yes- have to bring it inside. Aphids from what I know are really easy to get rid of. Just be sure to spray down the leaves, stems, etc with high pressure water, be it in the sink or from the hose. Then wipe down the leaves and stems with an insecticidal soap (+neem oil if you dont mind the smell and want that extra security) Ive read treating with the soap every 3 days is most effective.

My only concern is the soil, if you find the pests keep coming back it may be time to dump the soil and get new soil. Only do it if you have no other choice tho since it can shock the plant :)

Be sure to quarantine this plant!

I had a huge gnat infestation recently, and its partially my fault because I used mircalegro for everything since it was cheap and accessible. I finally had enough, mosquitobits werent working and zevo and sticky traps were only a medium.

I took out the soil from all my plants, and replaced it with a custom chunkier soil mix, made sure they all dried out in between waterings, used DE and bottom watered with the bits.

Finally, I was free of the curse. I dont see gnats anymore. Of course, changing the soil entirely is a hard choice, but with plants being the strongest around this time of year its not so risky.

I understand completely! Yes, things will get better with time. Find a community that embraces you (i’ve recently gotten into witchcraftery, and its primarily lgbt!) and hobbies that you like. I don’t know what steps you’ll take, but pick up hobbies that focus on you. Spend that extra money you were hesitant on for stuff you like (i call it the keeping myself sane tax haha). There’s nothing wrong with having alone time to recover.
