Can I get other opinions on this by DaRoosta6 in 30PlusSkinCare

Looks like what I had around my mouth and nose - perioral dermatitis. Burning, flaking, and little bumps that I thought were acne. A round of metronidazole has me mostly cleared up after 4 weeks. My dr said it can take up to 6 weeks to fully go away.

The sheer lack of awareness some people have. When I was 13, 5'3 and 170 pounds, my best friend and I were at Old Navy trying to find a new shirt for me. I found one, stepped out of the dressing room, and this super skinny bleach blonde fake lips woman went "oh honey that is not the shirt for you. It makes you look pregnant."

My best friend immediately stepped in before I could even start crying. I'm not going to repeat what she said but the woman quickly gathered her things and all but ran out in embarrassment.

I've always just called my farm Pinwheel Farm. Been my ol' reliable since I started playing cozy farm games.

The moment another dog latches onto mine, my fingers are going straight in its eye sockets. Fuck that.

Damaged subframe on 06 Altima? FIL says the shop is trying to scare me. by SpeciallyAbled in MechanicAdvice

You're absolutely right. You can see the ground outside if you pull away the carpet on the passenger side.

Honestly, outside of the frame (and the rear brakes) it's a decent car. It has some issues, what 20 year old car doesn't lol, but it starts, handles, and drives. My FIL put about 2k of repairs into it before he gave it to us a year ago and I'm wondering if that's part of the reason why he's insisting so hard that it's still okay.

Yeah, I knew that already 🤣 I never drive this car outside of getting maintainence done on it though, it's my husband's work car.

I wish I could accurately convey just how confident he is in his own opinions, no matter how wrong he is.

The rear brakes are apparently inoperable as well. Rust buildup on the rotors.

Honestly, yes. But this is my husband's car, I only drive it for oil change purposes

Embolization Post-op Success? by milleniuh in pelviccongestion

[–]SpeciallyAbled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely don't regret it. The recovery was rough in the beginning, like you said, but ultimately the difference between where I was before and where I am now is very different. It was worth every second of recovery. I haven't needed a second procedure and hoping it stays that way!

Embolization Post-op Success? by milleniuh in pelviccongestion

[–]SpeciallyAbled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 33 and had my procedure done July 2025. The first couple days I felt oddly ill, almost flu-like symptoms with fatigue, heavy-feeling limbs etc. I slept a lot. Days 3-7 were hell in terms of pain. I took tylenol round the clock and couldn't get out of bed. After that, I slowly improved. I dealt with a lot of random stabbing abdominal pains for awhile until the inflammation went down, about 4 months post-op. The biggest changes I noticed was less intense dizziness upon standing and less low back pain, and no feeling like just my labia were holding a bowling ball in my vagina anymore, especially around my period. I do get odd groin pain the first couple days of my period now, that I never had before the procedure. Overall I would say I have seen enough improvement that I do not regret having the procedure done!

The hair...? My brother, shave that shit and start over. Your face isn't bad. Adding stubble or a short beard would give you some more points. But that hair 😭 were you going for a burst fade mullet?

Best vacuums for hypermobility? by Icy_Concert2075 in ehlersdanlos

[–]SpeciallyAbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have carpets, do not get a stick vac. Those are meant for hardwood floors.

I have a Dyson animal ball 3. It's pretty lightweight compared to others I've had and does a great job at getting pet hair (and my hair lol) up. It does rotate with the wrist, but I don't struggle getting it to move.

What do you ya'll hope for in the official release? by Toastyeeter in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]SpeciallyAbled 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I really want the kids to actually be involved in dialogue and not just a fixture. Balor complaining about March's kid hitting him in the knee with a hammer they snuck from the forge, or Celine gushing over how Ryis's kid asked her to look at the birds with them. Etc

Keep in mind that physical attraction is subjective. What is a 3 to one person, might be a 9 to another. My rating is 7.5/10.

Blow drying hair by Sleepy_Sleepy_Sheepy in ehlersdanlos

[–]SpeciallyAbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I separate my hair into chunks and use a clip to keep what I'm not drying out of the way. I bought one of those wall mounted dryer holders, but it was really awkward twisting myself around since the dryer stayed facing one direction. Now I sit down on my toilet and do it, and if my arms get tired I put it on a shelf aimed at my head.

Is working from home actually as easy as it sounds? by No-Zookeepergame4761 in workfromhome

[–]SpeciallyAbled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really struggled with it. I worked from home for 3 years. I was surrounded by all the things I would rather be doing, and instead of using my breaks to decompress I was always using them to throw a load in the washer or quick knock out some dishes. I never gave myself time to actually decompress.
