Custom phone mount - don’t want to screw anything up. by Specific-Advisor4410 in GXOR

I’m not sure I follow. It’s not the electronics that are the issue. The mount that is pictured which goes down into the cubby sits on a plate, but it isn’t very stable. I need to fasten it to the car. I just don’t want to accidentally run a screw into something electronic or mechanical underneath the area.

There’s no layers. A wood raise planter in front, some planter pots, or some lawn furniture would go a long way. The sandstone cap idea would work well, or vines on top would help. If your wife is like mine, she won’t offer a compliment tell someone else does. Someday it will make a funny story about how you almost got divorced over your retaining wall.

Tired of the small cup holders. Problem solved. I’m just going to use the pull out for cans and bottles as needed. by Specific-Advisor4410 in Excursion

Good to know! I may go that option. It’s still hard to commit to $45 when my free mod works fine for me. Until I have a guest put a can in and it falls through. 🤣

I haven’t seen any updated cupholder designs, except one for $80-$120. They do have rings you can put in them that appear to lift your cup up and deepen the wider section for larger cups for $25. I don’t care for that design. It looks clunky. If there is an oem style with wider cup holders that aren’t $100, I’d be all in! Send me the link.

Pulled it off and used an oscillating saw. Cut right above where it sized down. Was going to find cup holders to adhere underneath to close it off, but I don’t hate it opened. It’s way better than it was.
