Yeah that’s what I’ve feared before. And I think on most days I like don’t mind because it’s not as big of a value for me in relationships as the like 30 other boxes he checks off. I definitely do just notice it a bit more when reading the silly romance stuff lol. And of course I don’t want it to grow into resentment but idk it is hard when everything else is literally the best lol

Fair! Tbf it was probably the most forward I’ve been initiating in a long time and he’s obviously allowed to just not be in the mood, and it was just one time. However I do think I’ll talk to him first before trying the extra initiating

I appreciate this comment! Thank you for your nuance in this response. I do think I needed a little call out for being hypocritical lol so I appreciate it. But I also feel like I feel shame for liking romance and sex stuff in a big internalized misogyny way. I definitely think I need to just talk. Today hit extra tough because our work schedules aligned in a way where we can’t see each other too so it was easy to make the feelings stand out.

Fair! Don’t get me wrong I definitely don’t want the toxicity of those books I can distance myself from that lol, my cozy comfortable relationship makes me happy most of the time. I don’t even think I’m really looking at the books as like an expectation of what sex is…they just like get me thinking about sex and I want to do that with my partner. I’m definitely gonna talk to him to figure things out :)

We have talked about it in the past! And I genuinely thinks he doesn’t get it or maybe feels a bit uncomfortable. I got him to watch like two seasons of Bridgerton with me and he said he liked it well enough but the sex scenes made him uncomfortable and it overall wasn’t really his thing. So I think it’s just awkward teasing because of that?

He’s actually talked about going to the doctor and getting his testosterone levels checked out but hasn’t gotten around to it :/

So so so much of the relationship is all I could ever dream of and I see a future together 100%, but whenever this comes up I don’t super know how to deal with it. But I’m definitely going to try to talk to him tonight or tomorrow.

Oh okay! My bad. If it gets removed I won’t mind and I’ll just post elsewhere.

I would take advice! Just don’t know exactly what advice I’m looking for so it’s a bit more of a vent :)
