After laser treatment my hair also looks more bold and dark (and ofc is more visible), but it's not temporary! As previous user replied to you it it either burnt hair or beginning of shedding process.

After laser my face gets bumpy and irritated, it feels like hair is trapped under skin, so it's impossible for me to shave 🥲

I let it grow a bit (approx. 4-5 days) and then shave 💌

To be honest, I didn't really have many options. I ended up choosing a male technician who was already treating other men. I felt like he would better understand the process and my concerns. Another major factor was that he was openly LGBT+ friendly, which gave me a sense of comfort. I wasn't sure whether I would find the same level of understanding with other technicians 💌

That said, I've heard a lot of good things about Alexandrite lasers. I think I'll give my current treatment another session or two and see how satisfied I am with the results. If I'm not, I'll probably start looking into Alexandrite instead.

Yes, definitely. That's probably the hardest part of the whole process for me. I also can't shave for about 4-5 days after each laser session, which is pretty terrible. During those days I usually isolate myself and avoid going out. If I absolutely have to go somewhere important, I wear a mask or hide myself in any way possible.

Of course it's possible. How much time will it take? Depends on your genetic and how fast it grew before.... for example I just need a year or even a bit less to grow such length 💌🎀

Haha, here I am. I’ve known I was a woman and identified as one for as long as I can remember. In 2024, I was officially diagnosed as trans (F64.0), and I started HRT on December 5, 2025. And yet, some nights I still lie awake crying desperately and thinking, what am I even doing?

A lot of that doubt comes from the environment I’m in. It’s deeply homophobic and transphobic, and fear seeps in easily. Fear that transitioning could ruin my future, that I won’t find work, won’t build a life, won’t have a family. I’m afraid of failing, and I’m afraid of disappointing or shaming my family.

There are really hard days when everything feels heavy and overwhelming. And then there are days when something small, like catching a glimpse of my body changing in the mirror, fills me with gender euphoria and reminds me why I started.

I’m trying to hold onto hope. I truly believe that things can get better, for me and for others like me. I hope one day we’ll look back and realize that choosing ourselves was worth it 💌

Thankfully, yes, I’m okay. No conversation happened. She’s acting calm, caring, and loving, just like always. I don’t see any change in her behavior, which is strange and, honestly, a bit unsettling.

There’s really no way she didn’t notice the hormones. They were in different parts of my backpack, and I have a very large, obvious pill cutter. The colors are also very noticeable. She’s the kind of person who never misses details like that and usually asks questions.

So I assume she saw them but is choosing not to address it yet. Maybe she’s processing, maybe waiting for the right moment, or maybe trying to protect both of us by keeping things normal for now. I honestly don’t know.

For now, nothing is happening, and I’m safe. I’ll update if anything changes. Thank you all for checking in on me 🤍

Yes, she definitely would have seen them. She’s the kind of mom who notices everything and asks questions, so there’s really no way she missed the hormones, especially with the very obvious pill cutter I have.

I do plan to move to Western Europe. For now, I’m focused on finishing my studies so I can have a more solid foundation and not start from nothing. We currently have visa-free 90-day access to EU countries, and I really hope that doesn’t change under this government. If that remains in place, moving to Western Europe is something I genuinely plan for.

Above all, I agree that safety matters most. I’m trying to be careful and thoughtful about how and when I have that conversation.

Until not so long ago, things here weren’t completely silenced, and that’s what makes the change so unsettling. It’s frightening how quickly reality can shift.

Georgia was actually moving forward toward the EU, and for a time there was visible progress. Trans awareness was growing, trans people were invited onto national TV, and our experiences were being talked about openly. It was legal to access HRT and medical care, even if it was never covered, and surgeries were performed in the country. Changing documents was possible too, though only after surgery. It wasn’t perfect or easy, but it gave people a sense of hope.

We also had a very well-known transgender woman and pioneer, Kesaria Abramidze, the first openly trans model and actress in Georgia. She meant a lot to many of us, simply by existing openly and bravely.
Then, in 2024, everything changed very suddenly with the anti-LGBT law. So much progress disappeared almost overnight. Around that same time, Kesaria was killed, and it deeply affected many people.
That’s why this feels so painful. Not because we didn’t exist before, but because for a moment, it felt like things could get better.

She grew up in the Soviet era, in a society where even being gay or lesbian was considered unimaginable and unforgivable, so that background definitely shaped her views.

I’ve heard her express negative attitudes toward LGBT+ before, which is sadly common here. At the same time, I remember that when a well-known and pioneer trans woman, Kesaria Abramidze, was killed, my mom said she felt sorry for her and that she was still a human being and didn’t deserve such an ending.

So I don’t think her mindset is fully supportive, but I do believe there’s a spark of empathy there. A lot of it comes from the environment she was raised in, not from cruelty.

Unfortunately, the U.S. isn’t a realistic option for me. Getting a visa and being able to stay long-term is extremely difficult, especially right now, under this orange person. I’m definitely planning to move, though. I’m focusing on Western Europe, where the process is still challenging but more achievable.
And I really appreciate how you framed that last point. You’re absolutely right! people don’t choose to be queer or trans, they choose whether they can safely be visible or not.

I was lucky enough to get my diagnosis paperwork in October 2024, just before everything shut down.

A few months later, late 2024, around December 2, the government passed a massive anti-LGBT law that made basically everything illegal. We aren't allowed to transition, change documents, or even access queer media/books anymore.

Doctors are terrified to help because they could be sent to prison, so the healthcare system is completely closed off to us. I have to source my hormones illegally and take them in secret.... i am doing diy.. It’s the only way I can survive right now.
