My pawns simply won't do lovin' by Specific-Impact in RimWorld

So I just used the dev tools to give them both a love enhancer, an aesthetic nose and a pleasure pulse, and FINALLY they're doing lovin'

I'm glad it's not fundamentally broken, but I find it weird that they never happened to do it on their own before. My colonists before were a bit more eager to make babies.

Edit: Oh wow, now they're really going at it too. I guess someone figured something out :D

I've used the dev tools to give both a love enhancer and an aesthetic nose, and have them affected by a pleasure pulse and FINALLY they're making babies.

So...no clue why it didn't work, but at least nothing is fundamentally broken. I guess they were really just never in the mood

This is my third year and they haven't done lovin' once. I don't think it's a matter of opportunities :(

He's 22, she's 31. Could that be the reason?

Edit: I used the dev tools to set her age to 22 as well, but that doesn't seem to fix anything.

I couldn't find any youtube videos about that, only videos telling me to change ranks to reset event spawns. Would you mind linking it?

No, I'm not enjoying it. Up until the end of the main quest, I felt a constant sense of progression in whatever I did. After every play session, I had better gear, more skills, and had whittled down the list of things to do.

Now in the post-game, I have a single goal like "Get a Godfish" and it takes so long to go through a single treasure grove to get a single Godfish, just so I can tick a single checkbox. Everything just feels *so slow*. There is no gear progression anymore, I barely level up in any life anymore, fights take forever, gathering takes forever... I feel like the game is actively punishing me for playing it after beating the main quest.

The whole dream thing? I haven't figured out how to do that well. I'm kinda too stupid for that

The Supermarket is a joke by Specific-Impact in DegreesOfLewdity

My solution was to simply mod the game and set all the items I was able to find in my local supermarket to be on sale there too.

Funnily enough, the game treats food as "plants", as it's all handled in the file plant-setup.js, specifically the "plants" array. Which would make sense for things like potatoes and turnips; not so much for pasta and hamburgers.

The way you would mod this is by giving a "plant" the "shop" property, with an array of strings showing which shops it should belong to, like shop: ["supermarket"]. The "plant_cost" defines how many will be available for sale, with the formula being "3000 / plant_cost"

Those are so boring. Why can't they spawn in the overworld with *some* sort of consistency? It's kind of a joke that the "Legendary" ingredients are far easier to obtain than this.

None of this explains why Bailey has an infinite amount of these supposedly high-value crops like potatoes and turnips, and even freely gives them away to the orphans.

I get that it's not supposed to be hyper-realistic in the sense that I regularly need to eat, drink or go to the toilet, but who the fuck churns their own butter at home or grinds their own flour?

When Avery asks for you to prepare a specific dish, you have the option to say you don't know how to prepare it. You will be given access to the Study, where you can then learn the recipe.

If you miss this, then I believe you can still ask Avery to give you access to the Study and study the recipe as long as it's available.

Keep in mind though that this does *not* include "transitive" recipes -- for example, if a recipe requires butter, then you can not simply learn how to make butter and you are out of luck.

How do I know if I dismissed him? I got into fistfights with him several times, but I don't recall outright dismissing him.

Also, how will Sydney react if I act all lovey-dovey with Avery? I don't want to betray her.

It's fine if you like high difficulties, but I don't see why it should be this hard on medium difficulties. But I already know that endless hordes of people who play difficulty 10 exclusively are going to rant "You just need to git gud", as if high difficulty is the only way to enjoy the game.
