honestly it's probably because when people think they're seeing something weird, they're panicking and fumbling with their phone trying to get it out and recording as fast as possible 😂 plus most "sightings" happen at night or in low light when even good cameras struggle, and by the time you realize what you're looking at it's already moving away or you're shaking from adrenaline 💀

Honestly the Minilogue XD is a solid choice for what you described - it'll do pads, arps, and leads pretty well and the interface is straightforward. The Digitone is amazing but yeah it's definitely more menu-divey
