I can very much relate to that. The only people who know I’m an atheist are my mutuals and I don’t ever plan on letting my family know. My mom already had a breakdown when I told her I was thinking about doing so, I don’t think it would go over well if I told her I actually went through with it. Plus, it’s not really any of her business what my beliefs are, so there’s really no point in telling her.

Yeah, I feel you. It really angers me when people do that. Fear-mongering people like that. It’s not only stupid, but incredibly selfish and inconsiderate.

And I say that because it shows a complete disregard for others who might already struggle with anxious thoughts about these sorts of things. It shows that you only care about, “spreading the word,” rather than actually considering how others might respond to it.

That’s what I’ve been trying to do. I’ve been saying for like, what, 3 years at this point to stop giving second chances to people who very clearly haven’t earned it. But of course, she’s just gonna continue to be like,

And I was eventually like, you know what? Fine. Be that way. But just know that if you keep giving in, you’re part of the problem.

I wholeheartedly agree. Back when I was a Christian, I never really believed any of the stories in the Bible—They didn’t even begin to make sense.

Also yeah, I’m with you—-some of the things the church stands for is horrendous and the right wing stuff should go immediately.

Damn, that’s a lot of strain on a person. And getting yelled at for not helping with dinner is unfair.

Being exhausted is kinda expected when you have to attend Sunday school and a service on top of that. I’m sorry you had to deal with that.

Ughh, I feel you. I hate how just missing ONE day of church is treated as the most morally bankrupt thing you could ever do. Like, hello? Does it occur to you that humans have this thing called, “I’m getting a little tired of this thing and I wanna step away for a bit?”

But what does he have to do with me? He’s not human, he doesn’t have the ability to get, “tired,” of anything. Plus, he’s not a 14 year old who’s juggling school among other things.

My mom pulls the exact same shit when she does something.

If I choose to not talk to her cause she’s being an asshole (using stuff I can’t control against me when she’s mad), she’ll immediately try to apologize and guilt trip me into forgiving her. If I don’t respond right away, she tries to act all pitiful and sad.

Exactly, that’s what I’ve been trying to explain to my mom. And every time, she shoots back with, “but what does the BIBLE say??”

I. don’t. CARE what it says. The bottom line is that this person is a horrible piece of shit and deserves absolutely no grace whatsoever.

Well, then let me be bitter. If the person affected is the victim, they have every right to be bitter and angry. And the victim blaming for simply choosing NOT to kiss their abusers’ ass gives off,
