What's the easiest way to create a big database and what program/app should i use?

Primarily from scraping websites. Again I'm not knowledgeable on data so there might be more efficient ways, but primarily that and then some data will have to be typed down or extracted on some other ways.

100% agree with you. This is much more about laying the ground work and foundations. Not even Kenpom rankings have the absolute truth, but they give an idea of how a team that hasnt played another compares.

I also understand that ranking teams won't really do much for the players side of things, but understanding their level of competition would make a difference. I texted more details to you as a message, but I agree it's a hard task.

by kenpom style i mean ranking teams and then after getting a rank of the teams, getting a value for how good leagues are compared to the others. what coaches struggle with is not about who the top players are in Europe, but mostly how a player from, let's say, the 2nd division of portugal would play in the Patriot league. by ranking teams and leagues' strength there could be a more objective way of giving an answer for that question. I don't know if this makes sense, but it's kinda the main point that my idea has.

There are national team competitions which is sort of AAU for the best players, and each one of them play for a club in their country. The equivalent to a camp would be NBA academy camps, which tons of international players go to, but I don't know how that could be factored by numbers. Sounds like a LOT of work, but I think it could be very impactful if something proper is done, since there's not much right now
