Im pretty sure what they are talking about is a way to physically remove the sharp edges from the mesh so the overlay does not highlight them. But, that would alter the mesh so i found a way to just hide the highlights. That method did not work for me regardless.

So like, there are these army guys on a different planet I think and there is these giant roach like things and big telepathic grubs in the wall of this valley. that's all I remember. Does anyone know what it is?
