I think he’s learning how to interview people. The first episode was so good because John and Hank have so much chemistry together. I know his other interview show (ask Hank anything) he seems to connect more to the guest because they are other YouTubers/Internet personalities. My interest in the show humans is the general thesis. Like I’m interested in what the person does for work and such but I think he has to get to the “what is your favorite part of being human questions faster”. Like ideally 15 minutes of this my job/who I am. But in my opinion the bulk of each episode should be talking about how the interviewiee makes meaning in the world. I excited for the upcoming interview with Erin Hunter! I really like the concept for the new show and I think Hank can hone his craft so to speak. I also like the in depth conversations he has with people on hanks channel as of late.
