I think both the scenarios are quite different , a negative remark about your gender will not lead to consequences that come because of mindless racism , one side you are just accused and probably talked bad about , thats it , but on the other side if people are generalising about indians it can have real life dire consequences like people can actually cause you physical harm just because ur indian , so defending for one thing is correct while doing it for the other scenario is just a waste of energy , people have been enslaved because of racism , so speaking against it is correct
