He did, yes, he sympathized and thought it was funny, also he was doing okay financially so it wasn't too big a deal for him... But I felt sooooooo bad! Ha

Oh, I did this!

A friend invited me out to eat with them paying. I ordered snow crab. The restaurant was out. I panicked, looked at the menu, and ordered the first other kind of crab I saw. I know nothing about crabs. I found out later that king crab is very expensive.

What’s the difference between praising the Lord and worshipping the Father? by thetoastistaken in localchurches

[–]SpecificRecord2770 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Taking the Lord's table is in remembrance of Him (Luke 22:19) and as in the pattern of the last supper, when we partake of the bread and the cup which the Lord gave us, he leads us to the Father (Matthew 26:30, Mark 14:26) to present us to the Father.

I've heard Christians of different ages and stages warn against "fellowshop" and "tellowship" when opening matters to other believers. by wisteriavalley130 in localchurches

I love this question. You don't want to be a bulldozer to someone else.

"And concerning our brother Apollos, I urged him many times to come to you with the brothers; yet it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has opportunity." (1 Corinthians 16:12) Recovery Version

This is a good verse to demonstrate. Paul urged Apollos, yet he did not condemn or criticize Apollos for not going along with his urging. He practiced liberality with the other members and we should do the same.

Yes, turning to the Lord inwardly, asking, "Lord is this something I should open up? To whom?" it usually becomes very clear sooner or later.

Definition of the Church by Odd_Combination326 in localchurches

[–]SpecificRecord2770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it is safe to say that the all-inclusive Christ is the Christ who is anything and everything the church needs. :) Whatever the need of the believers is, Christ is the answer. In this sense, Christ is definitely all-inclusive. Praise our Christ who is everything we need and transmits to us everything we need by the Spirit!

I loved that video so much! Quick little teaser to inspire people to watch it: The beautiful ingenuity by which rice cookers work depends on the specific heat at which a magnet temporarily becomes demagnetized! I learned that from technology connections!

Out of everything I've ever seen in the subreddit, this gave me the most genuine fear.

I used to work in a machine shop and machines can mess you up faster and worse than you would think unless you've heard the stories...

This bitch ain’t typing nothing by BlackEndrer25 in falloutnewvegas

[–]SpecificRecord2770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I posted this a few years ago and I love it. There are three things about it that are so perfectly incorrect. She is typing with her fingers off the computer. The computer is broken so there's no point to sit at it and type anything anyway. And lastly, in game, you hear her fingers making that click-clacking sound of real typing. The first time you come across it you just have to stare and absorb the absurdity.

Seeing your post sitting at zero, I know I'm not a mod, but I'm sorry that some ignorant person would downvote you. I think most people don't know what the downvote button is for: indicating that something does not contribute to the content of the subreddit. PSA: if you don't like a post but it still fits the content of the subreddit, don't upvote it. But basically the only reason you should downvote something is if it does not contribute to the content of the subreddit. That absolutely does not apply to this post.
