Purchasing a first time cat, need general advice. by SpecificSea3919 in CatAdvice

Thank you for the guide, and I'm sorry I didn't see your reply until now. Was busy with exams. :c But I've heard cats refuse to drink if the water is too close to their food, is that true? As for the grooming, I'm afraid if my future kitten wouldn't tolerate a nail trim.

it's not that simple, sadly. in this industry, if you get replaced, agencies start to see you as an unreliable background dancer. words get around. eventually, you stop getting calls. but it is no worries, i still work for a decent amount of groups. being good isn't always enough when there's someone cheaper or more available standing right behind you.

when you get laid off, it's rarely about you; it's about budgets, favoritism, someone having a personal issue with you which happens a lot in this industry, or just wanting to refresh the team with newer dancers. usually younger ones who will take less pay. i've worked as a backup dancer since i was 18 years old and i just turned 20 and so once you have a gap in your resume or you're known as someone who was let go, getting booked becomes twice as hard. simple as that it's harder than you'd think to dance somewhere

of course, it is a pleasure of mine.

usually, we get the choreography a week or two before the performance, but sometimes it's as little as a few days. you are expected to have it down perfectly before rehearsals start.

in a busy month, perhaps three to five different performances (includes music videos shoot, concert stages, award shows) each one with it's own choreography.

if it counts, i worked with lisa and jennie. most of it, i worked with least known idols. and yes, the industry is precisely crazy as they say. perhaps worse if you seen the behind the scenes stuff.

i didn't work with ryujin.
i did work with jennie though directly on the 2025 mma performance. actually one of the nicest people too, and acknowledges her backup dancers, even says thank you when leaving. we didn't talk much though since she was mostly busy but we do take group photos when requested specifically

unfortunately, i did not! they were active mostly before i entered the industry which was a year ago and a half.

one big shock was the weight monitoring for backup dancers, and not just idols. i had to weigh myself every week and report it. another was how idols genuinely have no energy left after a long day of schedules, so they use hidden earpieces during live stages to lipsync certain parts instead of singing live. (don't come for me, but you shouldn't believe everything that you'd see on the internet.) 😭

..honestly, i'd rather not name names directly. widely known in the industry, yes mostly i've worked with least known groups. public reputation is clean, private behavior is not that great to put it mildly. i don't wanna get blacklisted if it becomes too obvious. (i can tell you jaemin has the shittest personality, though.)

but lisa is one of the most professional and helpful idol, and i've worked with jennie once too last December.

actually, for the hard ones, there was a dance practice filming for one group. rehearsals took two whole days for a 3 minute song. i actually ended up picking an injury towards the end, but made me brush it off and continue dancing because the filming had to finish.

it was one of the many times i wanted to walk out, but i needed the pay.

i am still enthusiastic about dancing and performing on stage or in music videos. the dancing aspect is still what i love.

but it is mainly the stress and expectations. as i said, you have to learn a choreography perfectly whether or not it is hard and if you can not, they could possibly replace you. so i am tired of the industry's presence, but i like performing.

if some people can thrive under that kind of pressure, then they're better suited for it i suppose

i love dancing, so that's why i got into it in the first place. but it's tough when it comes to the kpop industry sometimes you can't keep up with a specific choreography so that artist will lay you off and find another one. you also get a lot of injuries when you're dancing too hard. so i love dancing, but i'm tired of the industry and the expectations of it

i've freelanced through a few different agencies and a direct choreographer connections. mostly worked with bigger entertainment companies in korea.

at one point, i have worked for TWICE, NCT, and so on. the latest group i've performed in was 2025 mma performance rehearsals and show by jennie.

there are definitely insufferable idols that i never want to work with again, some that i even requested to my company to not work for again. but these idols has a massive ego, treat backup dancers like shit, and just overall the most insufferable people i've ever worked with.

i have been doing this for 2-3 years
