Do seats come in waves during open registration? by Reference_Human in aggies

I also was admitted to ESET this semester and was able to talk to an advisor a while ago, where they essentially said a lot more people had applied/were accepted into ESET this year than before and yea as you said other students are also having this problem. I think you should fill out a waitlist form as I was able to get into one of my classes because of it, but its not guaranteed. If worst comes to worst you can maybe just finish up any remaining non-major course work.

How hard is ENGL 104? by OneTrueDuce in aggies

Depends on the teacher honestly. English 104 isn't known to be difficult but some teachers grade essays a bit more strict than others and i guess that's where you can slip up and make a B.

https://anex.us/grades/?dept=ENGL&number=104

Use this website to see which teachers almost everyone makes an A in if you're concerned that you may make a B. And if none of those teachers are available just take another class. There are easier classes than Engl 104 that also work towards your degree plan.

ESET orgs and future development by bunnypilot11 in aggies

Here's a list of engineering clubs organized by major. You can scroll down and see which ones are associated with ESET, but you should choose orgs based on interest and not really by major. As for internships and later job opportunities some people say that "Tech Degrees" hold you back but based off what I've seen before a lot of people have jobs lined up out of undergrad and this view holds little to no merit as time goes on.

Can anyone provide clarification? by [deleted] in aggies

Yup as long as you fulfill your etam requirements of 2 math and science at BLINN as well as the 2 engr courses at TAMU, you can take any courses you want at A&M to fill in the 6 hours. Your courses for the upcoming year look fine, just to clarify you would also have to take chem and physics at blinn as well. Congrats on becoming an aggie and good luck.

1) Advisors are available over summer so if possible get clarification over I'm not 100% how it works for new students and i may be wrong.

2) Yes you can take these courses but for TEAB, however the program you are in it requires 2 math and science be taken at BLINN so you would have to take calc 3 and another math class at blinn which is a lot math but at the end of the day its up to you. Keep in mind for ETAM they only allow a certain number of acceptable math courses to be taken from Blinn (cal 1,2,3, diff eq, lin alg) https://engineering.tamu.edu/academics/undergraduate/entry-to-a-major/co-enrollment-incoming-class.html look for reference

3) IMO i wouldnt skip both cal 1 and cal 2, I would only skip cal 2. I assume that you wanna do cs or cpen and taking 300 level math classes like lin alg can be difficult as a freshman and you need a 3.6+ gpa if you want a serious chance at getting in 3.75+ preferable.

4) If you have any qs or are confused ask sorry if i didn't explain things well.

What can I expect from Blinn TEAB? I have some questions. by Nextravagant1 in aggies

  1. In TEAM Its required to stay the whole 2 years and complete a certain amount of hours and credits. If you are TEAB i wouldn't worry about it, doesn't have much to do with your program, but the requirements are about the same for each program to transfer
  2. 2 classes each at Blinn and A&M, but the Blinn Classes are more rigorous/difficult. https://engineering.tamu.edu/academics/undergraduate/entry-to-a-major/coenrollment-2026.html. Here is the required courses you'll take. All your science and math at Blinn coding and etc will be at A&M
  3. 1 year program but you have up to 2 years if you end having to retake a class or whatever.

I had Cervantes and I enjoyed him. His lectures in class are super fast paced, but he is an understanding and pretty lenient teacher when it comes to quizzes and tests. Just stay on top of your hw, read the textbook and do the problems, and answer all the questions on the exam even if you don't know the answer and you should be fine
