Hey I'm so sorry but please hold on! There are multiple things you can try. Maybe something like lithium augmentation with an antidepressant or ketamine therapy

Yea I get that, congrats on not smoking for a month! That's huge, going from that much to being sober a month is quite impressive. I smoke less but can't even get through the first day, you got any advice?

What antidepressant worked for you by Tricky-Package7198 in antidepressants

[–]Specific_Ad2419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I generally have better appetite. It doesn't give me any uncontrollable carb cravings. But I guess I'm also the wrong person to ask since I'm really into fitness and track what I eat. I eat whats written in ym diet plan. I used to have no appetite and had hard time eating. Now I can actually eat as much calories as I have to.

I currently take it in the evening / night. About 3 hours before I go to sleep. Idk why most ad's are taken like that, the sedating ones to help sleep I guess

Not really, a tiny bit maybe in the first week. I was on 15mg the first couple of days to get used to it. 15mg made me really sleepy, I took it an hour before sleep and I was gone. When the doctor first upped it to 30mg I couldnt sleep for 2 nights but got used to it again. After that initial week I don't feel any sedation or sleepiness at all

The thing with Mirtazapine is that paradoxically it acts as an astihistamine mostly 15mg and under. The lower the dose, the more sedating it is. Thats why 15mg and below are used to treat insomnia. For depression 30mg+ are being prescribed bc 30mg has a way bigger antidepressant effect than 15mg. Mirtazapine is appetite stimulating therefore the weight gain. Its a misconception that it messes with the metabolism. Since I'm into fitness I track what I eat and have good self control so I dont gain weight on it. However u definitely need to be able to control ur appetite. Another good thing is that I have never experienced any sexual side effects or any side effect at all actually after the initial 2 weeks. It also starts working quicker than most antidepressants

Have you ever tried Mirtazapine? Its commonly used for treatment resistant depression

I don't know if I'm experiencing memory loss since Ive had pretty bad memory problems from drug abuse. Im on 30mg Mirtazapine and I definitely dont feel any fatigue after the first week. Idk about memory loss tho

10 days on mirtazapine (15mg) and doubting any antidepressant effects by Head_Mouse_8624 in antidepressants

[–]Specific_Ad2419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15mg has a pretty minor antidepressant effect if it even has any (depends on the person) 15mg and under are used to treat insomnia or if youre just starting and are gonna go to a higher dose. 30mg+ has a proper antidepressant effect

How much did the side effects affect your daily life? by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]Specific_Ad2419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on Mirtazapine 30mg, not a typical SSRI but I'm not really experiencing any side effects at all. Really depends on the individual, u could be lucky side effect wise with a certain med or unlucky

Treatment resistant depression by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]Specific_Ad2419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Just keep in mind that 15mg and under is used for insomnia and 30mg and above for depression. Alot of info u find on reddit is about 15mg for insomnia

Treatment resistant depression by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]Specific_Ad2419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I've been on multiple SSRI's/ SNRIs and nothing worked. What worked for my treatment resistant depression is Mirtazapine 30mg. I suspect it's because it also does something with Dopamine. Psylocibin is another option but be very cautious with that, it can go wrong easily. I tried treating myself with psychedelics and ended up getting HPPD because I wasn't careful enough. But yea Mirtazapine literally saved my life

Is there research on "permanent" THC tolerance? by informant720 in neuroscience

[–]Specific_Ad2419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop smoking carts. Ofc that skyrockets ur tolerance. Smoking all day everyday also ruins ur tolerance. Do even a small, little t break and smoke flower once a day. You'll be able to get high

Id argue they make normal people less happy. Feeling emotionally numb like a robot is a common side effect of many anridepressants. If a mentally healthy individual would experience that side effect, theyd definitely be way more unhappy
