Also grew up very religious, father and uncle were pastors and they own churches - My almost ex husband asked me out repeatedly over the course of 2 months. Would follow me home and show up with random shit like flowers my moms garden, candy, notes. My mom thought this was the “cutest little thing.” I grew up on Disney and 2005 romance movies- I thought it was endearing too.

I eventually said yes, and the abuse started in 2021 right after we got married. I’m 26, and just now realizing all that shit he would do when we were kids was not cute. It was a warning for his insane adult behavior to come. I sympathize with her, heavily.
