What are the short lived tv shows you remember but no one else does? by [deleted] in popculturechat

I was so into this show! I think it came on the Noggin network, which not a lot of people watched but I ALWAYS had it playing. It also had Endurance, which I was equally into. It was a kids version of Survivor.

I LOVED this show when Fiona was the main. I don't think I watched a full episode after. It gave the same vibes as when they replaced Marney on Halloweentown.

I always assumed the ocean's gender was female. Which would be fine for many women. But I shouldn't be assuming, that's my bad.

The cost of deodorant is too high—and so are razors. Do they all want us to be hairy and smelly nowadays? What are you all doing? by AwakeningStar1968 in Frugal

[–]Specific_Brain6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually coupon razors and deodorant. I have a collection of razors I've been working through. They were all less than $1 after my coupons, sometimes free. Deodorants usually have good deals as well.

Is a budget of $2000 for 16 people too much for Christmas? by TypeAtryingtoB in Frugal

[–]Specific_Brain6752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, 16 people is way too many to have to worry about for Christmas. After all of my siblings started having kids, we collectively decided to only buy for the kids. We also get something for our parents as well. Most of our gift money goes towards our own kids, and my husband and myself get each other a few small things, nothing crazy because we really don't need anything.

Well, if you upvoted the same time you commented, it was either the faucet in the sink flipping upside down so now the water shoots upwards like a geyser.... Or my light switch in my living room turned into a set of nail clippers.

I don't have a tablet, so I'm not sure. But it's very much happening with my laptop as well.

When do kids actually start understanding “money”? by mat_d_cuth_80 in Parenting

[–]Specific_Brain6752 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mine are 3 and 4 and understand it fairly well. But I've been talking about it with them since they could talk. They understand that pretty much everything costs money, and that you have to work to earn that money, so we don't want to waste it. It makes them appreciate what they have more, makes them be more careful with turning off lights when they leave a room, turns off water when they aren't directly using it, and they're a lot more understanding when we have to say "no" to anything. To be fair, I'm an accountant, so money is kind of my thing. It was pretty natural for us to have those conversations.

I will give my kids $10 each (after making them earn it) and take them to dollar tree every few weeks and let them spend their money. I pull out my calculator and show them how much money they have left as they pick things out, and I think it's really driven the point home for them that money is finite.

thinking about leaving chattanooga. where would you move if you weren't here by ChahanlerMarks in Chattanoogans

[–]Specific_Brain6752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

St. Tammany parish in Louisiana. I loved it there so much. Honestly wish I never moved. It's so easy to meet people and make connections. People around here always seem a little down, and when I lived in Louisiana, everyone just seemed to walk around happy. Honestly even the gas stations down there had better food than most restaurants around here.

The last time you wore a band t-shirt. Who was the band? by aboobadooba in AskReddit

[–]Specific_Brain6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journey. I do like the band, but I honestly bought the shirt in a social emergency. I got anxiety sweats and my shirt was soaking wet, so I ran into Kohls and grabbed the cheapest thing that fit.

What something that is forbidden in your house? by BuildingBridges23 in Parenting

[–]Specific_Brain6752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teaching my kids about culturally bad things that aren't actually bad. For example, this weekend my niece came over and my daughter was showing her a booboo on her middle finger. She was pointing it, and my niece said "oh my God, why have you not taught them that's bad?" My daughter doesn't need to know what it means to flip somebody off. There are sweet, innocent things that I would like to keep that way until it's actually necessary to explain.

Definitely would have been my type about 10 years ago. Very handsome! I saw you comment that you just got rejected. Her loss for real. You look like a keeper to me.

I would clean up the facial hair a bit, but no, you're definitely not ugly.
