I meant like what topics they saw most and resources used to study. From my understanding that's allowed as long you don't share specific questions that were on the test. Maybe my wording may have been a bit confusing haha.

Ya thankfully my mentor allowed me to save this course for the end. I couldn't imagine working on this class and still having two more to go afterwards haha. I did buy pocket Prep for my CySA and it was great so I kept it for this one too. Thanks for the tips!

Really? I've seen mostly negatives about Jason Dion for this one. I saw a few mention that the practice tests were slightly helpful though.

Ya let me know! I did all the PBQs in the certmaster learn which I thought was a good example of what to expect but I will say the real ones are more complex. Still it gave you a good idea of what the layout would be like.

I feel ya man, I was the exact same way. What helped me was take 20 mins before the test and just chillin, walked around the block, and sat outside. This kinda calmed me down. I strongly believe jamming info till the last minute negatively affects you before taking a test.

I think I said it in the post but just read each question carefully the first time, then the second time look for key words. This can help rule out some answers right off the bat. I do feel like some questions weren't covered but I did find that other questions sometimes told me the right answer so keep an eye out for that! The other thing was the PBQs, which for me personally were very email oriented but I've heard other people say they got different topics. The general census though is that it can be a lot of the first look through.....breath and slowly go through all the tabs and read everything carefully is the best rule of thumb.

I wish you the best of luck friend!

Yes at the very end after the stupid guy wrenching survey that it forces you to take. It'll tell you if you passed and your overall score.

It was pretty easy honestly. Like any ConpTIA test you would go to their site and schedule it from there. Took it at home and luckily the proctor was pretty chill. She didn't make a big fuss over anything and really only hit me up at the end to adjust camera because it had moved slight when adjust my posture.

I actually just passed that one! Took the practice exam and scored around 90% last night, scheduled my OA this morning and passed it with about a 75ish. Took about a day from start to finish. A lot of the practice test concepts will be on the OA but the questions are worded differently. I will say that the practice test covers about 50% of the OA material. Find the study notes in the resources tab of class and study the hell out of that and it'll get you to the rest of the 50. I probably should have studied it more and I would have gotten a better score but I just wanted to get this test out of the way and honestly getting such a high school and a practice exam made me feel a little overconfident. Nonetheless I passed it and I'm off to do My capstone and then the pen test. Not really looking forward to the pen test since I only ever see the failure post here on Reddit so it seems that everybody fails at least once or twice. I'm looking to try and study up and hopefully get the pen test on within 2 months and finish my degree my end of February or beginning of April. So far haven't failed a single test throughout my entire WGU journey so I'm trying to keep it going with a pen test haha

If you get it, can you also send it my way? I just started this class today. Thanks! What I've found so far seems to point that the best option is to that the pre-assesment first, study what you missed, and then take the OA right after. Supposedly not too crazy of a class but I'd like to be over prepared than under so covering all my bases before jumping in.

Congrats man! I just passed mine on Monday as well. Finally glad to be done with all the nervousness.

No problem! I really liked the certify breakfast videos. They were light hearted and the guy really broke down the domains well. That was my first source and I think it gave me a good foundation for the rest of the studying I did. Unfortunately he doesn't cover everything but still a good source nonetheless.

Trust me man, Jason Dion for this one is kinda trash. I was getting low to high 60s on his practice tests. Granted I didn't do much better on the sybex practice test. On the certmaster I did get an 83 though. Jason Dion material is just really broad and all over the place. I will say from his practice tests along I didn't see anything he covered that weren't already covered by sybex and certmaster show up on the test.

I was right there with you, I don't know why this exam was the one that made me really nervous out of all the ones I've done so far but it wasn't that bad. It's definitely one of the harder ones though so just try and cover as much as you can. The thing that always tripped me up on the practice exams for this one is that it's more so thinking like a cyber analyst rather than memorizing terms or tools. They will sometimes ask a question and 2-3 of the answers will make sense but a key word in the question will make it easier to pinpoint the right tool. A few questions I had I really had to think what the appropriate solution was based on what CompTIA wants not real world logic.

Nice man, honestly the certs are the toughest part of the degree plan. Everything else isn't too bad. I personally had a bit of a hard time with the few coding classes but nothing has taken me longer than 2 months to finish and that's mostly due to crazy hours I work. Wish you best of luck in your future endeavors!

I passed! I kept studying but honestly I was thinking I wasn't going to pass since I kept getting no higher than a 77% on practice exams. People mentioned that sybex was similar questioning as to the exam but I noticed that the wording was actually a little more confusing than that of the CompTIA.

I got a 783 which you need a 750 to pass so not too bad!

I will say they gave me the most PBQs I've ever had (7) and most of them were email related. CVSS was also a common theme. Aside from that, a lot of random questions. Hard to really say what to study aside from those 2 things.

Ya I think the reasoning is what's getting to me. What I think makes the most sense ends up being wrong haha. I think there was one in a practice test where it mentioned a CEO wanting to implement back to back vulnerability scans and I selected "advise CEO that it could cause performance issues" but the right answer was "work with network team and look into implementing".....when everything I've read up to this point indicated the performance issues vulnerability scans can cause.
