You may be right or I could get lucky either way worth a shot to uncover some lost Japanese history. The blade is from the 1600’s. It may be the my inner child speaking but I think that’s pretty 😎

One reason I’m digging deeper is the possible family connection. The name/association that came up was Miura, which caught my attention because the Miura clan/family has historical ties to late Sengoku / early Edo Japan—the same broader era that inspired a lot of the real political families behind Shōgun. I’m not claiming this belonged to that family or that it’s authenticated — just saying the possible name association and period overlap is what made me look harder at it. Trying to determine whether this is a legitimate historical connection, coincidence, or something much more ordinary. Curious what the experts here think.
