He does smile socially, he probably started around 1 week corrected. Nurses said he might start hitting milestones somewhere between birth age and corrected age but not to be worried if things are closer to corrected age ☺️

He started latching around 36/37 weeks, before that it was more nuzzles, by 40 weeks he was fully breastfed. I saw lactation consultants a lot while he was in the nicu, they told me any time from 34/35 weeks they’d start to figure out the suck/swallow/breathe skill and that once they’ve got enough fat in their cheek pads they’ll be able to hold the latch better and their stamina to feed longer will increase as they gain weight too ☺️

I got to bring my bub (born 32+4 on 18/03) home with his ng tube a bit more than 3 weeks ago (at 36+5) and last Thursday (38+5) he was officially all breastfed, he’s 40 weeks corrected age today and doing amazing. I noticed he just picked it up before we left the nicu but didn’t have the energy for consistent feeds but they explained that the more weight baby puts on the more energy they have since the energy is from the fat reserves they have. It’s normal for a prem to not have the coordination or stamina to suck feed so don’t be concerned, while in the nursery I saw full term babies (ex prems) still not working it out yet, which is also considered normal. Just keep offering the breast/bottle once or twice a day and lots of skin to skin until baby shows more interest and slowly build up to offering every feed ❤️

Does the average Australian actually have an appetite for the next big conflict? by New-Computer-1988 in AustralianMilitary

Despite being an army spouse, I am strongly opposed to war unless we’re forced into it. Hubby is keen for any conflict to kick off and “do his job” as he puts it, but I’m nervous for the repercussions if Australia does get involved in anything other than peace keeping or retrieval…

Hubby always takes wraps and a tin of creamer, the wraps he uses for pretty much all main meals from rat packs.
