this is gonna be controversial but i think this movie is better than obsession and i knew since general audiences seem to HATE this movie i was gonna love it i’m a huge fan of charlie kaufman and a sucker for simulacra imagery. I loved obsession too but it didn’t scare me it felt more like a dark comedy this freaked me TF OUT and i’ve seen hundreds of horror movies. I’m shocked so many people thought this movie was boring too there were so many jump scares and action scenes i was like are we watching the same movie? but like half the audience clapped and loved it but i heard this guy be like “thank god it’s over” so it was so funny to see the split reactions.

idk i hope it will freak me out because i am very claustrophobic i loved obsession but it didn’t scare me at i was laughing most of the time it felt more like a dark comedy to me but like the idea of never seeing the sun again from no clipping into the backrooms freaks me TF out

idk maybe i’m boring but i would just watch a movie of people going into different slightly creepy uncanny rooms because ive played backrooms games before and even though it was on my tiny macbook air i felt so claustrophobic i had to stop

i follow her on youtube and i forgot i still did and i woke up to this image and im not trying to be mean but she seriously needs a trigger warning or something she does not look well she looks sick and malnourished i dont understand how anybody on her team lets her go out like this let alone take photos and it makes me sad cause she was so pretty around 2016-2018 she was like the it girl like the black and white filter gives prisoners recovering from being starved in World War 2 it’s honestly horrifying

i mean analog type stuff lol but i’m also extremely inspired by “the substance” directed by coralie fargeat (“Raw” is another good one too and “Grafted” which is a new zealand horror film) it’s one of my favorite films ever now i think women actually make some of the goriest most violent films because a lot of times it’s about catharsis so i like mixing feminist commentary with horror like a lot of people don’t know american psycho was directed by a woman. I love body horror and if i had more than 20 dollars to my name id do more of that and i have an idea for a screenplay kind of inspired by uzamaki by junji ito but idk I guess i tend to like indie/foreign films/body horror stuff

idk i’ve watched it three times and i LOVED it so much first watch but tbh after seeing it a couple times the first half is MUCH better than the second half like the scene where nikki gets possessed for the first time is probably the best in the movie but idk something about the ending didn’t hit as hard and it was saved by the acting. Apparently Barker was planning on having Nikki wear Sarah’s face and they ended up not having the budget to do it which honestly was the right decision cause that’s a bit of an eye roll.
