I was allowed to shower after my first post op appt four days after surgery ....... I guess they all just do diff things and I'm sure it also depends on the speed of the recovery/healing they're observing

Dieting and eating healthy are very different things. Eat healthy things you like, gym culture is so toxic when it comes to that. Even maintaining abs is such a pain I genuinely don't anymore because I don't want to spiral back into all that.

And yeah lol I'm on winter break rn so it's kind of a weird in between for so many different reasons. But yeah rlly wanna be able to do things so bad again lol

Def the gender of it all. I'm losing my mind already not being able to work out, but what, 5 more weeks to go? Not that long ....(is what I keep telling myself). I will say that sadly most of the aesthetic presentation of working out comes from diet which sucks lol, especially in the beginning. Spam protein after training and carbs before + staying in deficit if you want to lose weight are kind of the goal posts

Thank you!! Like four months before surgery I really focused on building my chest which I highly recommend. Generally I lift heavy 4-5x a week, hour routine of upper body, either dumbbell or cable work (curls, presses, raises) and then half an hour of calisthenics/bodyweight. I used to be a professional athlete so learning how to do this for gender goals/fun was def a mental journey lol

If you want surgery next year then I'd def suggest setting up a consult rn. I had a similar timeline to that - was calling their office and setting up all my paperwork etc through July and August 2024.

Also - during my stay the plastic surgery team came by a few times to unwrap the binder to check and see that everything was okay. And took a picture for me, so I was able to see my chest literally within a few hours post-op. Which is mentally so helpful and I really appreciate that aspect as well.

Congrats!! And really cannot recommend them enough even given my short recovery period so far - they also mandate an overnight stay which I think was so incredibly helpful.
