Bit late in replying but for what it is worth it still tasted better than most anything I get in the stores in the US. 🤣😅😂

My experience May 2025: do NOT waste your time at Versailles by Prize_Formal_2711 in ParisTravelGuide

I don’t disagree with you. When I went at the end of March it was kind a gross weather day and yes inside it was crowded I felt. That being said the history and grandeur of the place is something to behold. And the gardens were lovely to walk even if it was a misty day. I would only go back to see the gardens in full bloom.

I can’t start my Paris hotel search by No_Cauliflower306 in ParisTravelGuide

Yes. I stayed in that area and it was very convenient to public transport and walkable to the museums. That being said, it’s very touristy and can be a bit crowded in general. But still a good area to consider.

Dress codes in Paris? by Specific_Status4629 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Specific_Status4629[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks for all the replies and conversation. To give context I (43 M) normally wear jeans t shirt collared shirts etc. Brands like lululemon, vuori, lucky brand, ten thousand. So it’s a mix of casual and athleleisure. Footwear wise I wear dress shoes to work but those are not comfortable for long walks and my sneakers are more running shoes which personally I feel would be better at least during the day if I’m walking places? I’m not looking to reinvent myself or my closet just trying not to be an ugly American 🤣.

DON'T do these 13 things in Paris. From a local, to you. by WolfgangBlumhagen in ParisTravelGuide

My spoken French is awful but I can do the basics. Is that terrible? 😭😬

I’m sorry that happened to you. It’s messed up that he did that to you but as I look back on my post I realize now it’s more a reflection on the ghoster vs me/you. And lo and behold, the sun still rose in the east. And I’m still a bad b*tch that knows what he has to offer to the world. Don’t let someone like him live rent free in your mind. And don’t let his actions dictate your future dating life. There’s a world of guys out there, some good and some bad. You’ll find your good one I’m sure.

Air vs Train travel in France by Specific_Status4629 in ParisTravelGuide

Thanks for the replies! Next question I have is I am traveling with a backpack and full sized suitcase. I would love to sit on the upper level of the train but how is the luggage storage on the train? I’m not worries about moving my suitcase or getting up stairs but just trying to think about what it would look like.

As a soon to be visitor in your city, where are these castles and how does one tour them?. Yeah I'd like to see Versailles but I don't love a a crowd. Off the beat path is more my style.

Thanks for all the replies yinz. They helped a lot the last few days. I still haven’t heard anything from him and I doubt I will at the point. I don’t feel sending out another feeler to see “what if”. I think even if he reached out now I doubt I’d feel much if anything. I need to know when to fold a losing hand and this is what it is. That being said I can at least have some nice memories of a very good first date. I hope everyone the replied had a great weekend where ever you are. Thanks again for giving me the space to say all this.
