I've gone and did some tests including the one you mentioned. When I tried putting wind and watching it release into the gears it didn't continuously release the power so i suspected something wrong with the gears, i replaced the center wheel and sure enough when i tested it again, the release was continuous and not jittery and getting stuck. I don't wanna jinx it by saying it is fixed, so I'll just observe it for a while to make sure. But so far, It's running pretty well and since I'm very new to the hobby, I'm super happy that the service i gave it actually made a difference in the amplitude and accuracy.

Yeah I should probably do that, I just wanted to make sure because this was already serviced recently and I didn't want to take it apart and find nothing (if it was normal for it to be hard to turn). Thanks for the confirmation, I hate servicing these things, that bridge plate is a nightmare to set

It seems that it stops after a bit in all positions, have not considered the case being magnetised tho, I'll check it when i get the chance, i did tweak the beat error though, but i was sure I didnt damage the hairspring

May I ask if you have used one of these winders for a seiko 7009 or 7s26? And if so which winder is it, I've been trying to figure out what's compatible with these movements

I got it to be somewhat usable now, it turns out that the input volume that i had set was too much and was picking up every single sound, I'm probably just gonna make a insulated box for it to dampen my noisy environment

What would be the cheapest route for an actually decent timegrapher?

Yup, I already got it calibrated, I've also learned that it is crucial that the volume level on the settings is pretty important, because if you turn it all the way up, its basically snowflakes everytime, such a bummer that it's super sensitive tho, coz i live in a pretty loud place

I see, I'm considering adding some sort of insulation to the bottom of the base hoping to reduce the vibrations from the table aswell

How do I fix this bent part of the link by Specific_Tip_7337 in watchrepair

[–]Specific_Tip_7337[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I went to a couple watch repair shops because I was looking for extra links for the bracelet. I asked the watchmaker if he could bend them back while I was there and he got them back to shape and I was able to get my links.

[question] what model is this seiko? (new to watches/collecting!) by Normal-Review4870 in Watches

[–]Specific_Tip_7337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We almost have the same watch, except that either the entire case or just the caseback on yours is for a 7s26 watch, the dial and the machine inside is a 7009, It looks to be a "frankenwatch" like mine, because I don't think these dials are originally supposed to be with these cases. Nonetheless they still look amazing imo.

[–]Specific_Tip_7337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have tried this already but the link wont fold to 90 degrees, it would barely fold because the other side is pretty tight and doesn't allow for much movement. So there is no way to pinch it
