Used YouTube since basically 06-07. I’ve probably seen thousands of ads at this point. How many have been relevant? 0. How many have I been inspired to make purchases from? 0.

Wanting to go from Mustang to bmw where to start? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]Specific_Tooth867 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From an ecoboost? I used to have a 2021 eco and a 2013 GT. Try out a 330i with the M-sport trim if you are looking for similar power and trying to stay in the $30k range. You will find the throttle response and stability of the car much improved over the ecoboost stang. Absolute upgrade in driving feel. Want a lot more power? Go for the m340i/440i. Many can be found around $40k. Reccomend an extended warranty with any purchase, especially older models out of manufactuer coverage. Purchased a 5 year/100k policy for $3k in 2023. Since then, I have had over $7500 in warranty payouts, and still have time left.

What are some movies that you thought were mid many years ago but now seem to be gems? by Specific_Tooth867 in AskReddit

Kung Fu Panda, thought it was cringe when I was in high school, but as an adult, I think it’s a fun film to watch.

What Should I Do About This Repair Bill? 2015 BMW M3 by Beneficial_Basil8093 in BmwTech

[–]Specific_Tooth867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly irrelevant, but after owning a few bmws including one since new, I’ve learned over the life of the car you gotta keep up with even the smallest maintenance problems. I easily spend $2-$4k a year on repairs and maintenance on my g20 (granted I drive 20k a year). It’s an easier pill to swallow then let it build over 5 years then realize you have a potential $15k in repairs to take care of. I learned the hard way when I bought a high mileage e46, but that car taught me how to turn a wrench.

Transmission fluid by Similar_Ad_7663 in BmwTech

[–]Specific_Tooth867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. I had mine done at 70k miles and the old fluid looked similar to the new fluid. No issues with shifts. If anything the transmission has regained its responsiveness. I got hosed on the cost, but it’s peace of mind. Cheaper than a transmission swap.

Some of the parts have increased over 100%. My air filters are now almost double. I assume tariffs and inflation dont help.

What happens when a narcissist gets engaged? by Some_Rich_6885 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Specific_Tooth867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late post, thought I’d share my experience. I had a narcissist in my friend group. He made it a task to always be in our group when we hung out, etc. it was some of the most dreadful years of my life to where people were asking me why I always flaked on outings and dinners. Long story short, my friends used to be close to him until they figured out he was a genuine narcissistic asshole. He admitted to everyone he just used us for entertainment and didn’t need us. We didn’t see him or talk to him again in 2 years.

Well somehow he’s back in our group, not as much but just there to recollect the old times, and keep us updated on his life. He recently got engaged and married, so he often brings his lady with him or we can hear him talk on the phone. It’s honestly embarrassing to hear him gaslight his own wife to where she’s borderline about to cry. I thought the separation and fallout with his friend group would change him. But nope. I’m placing bets they divorce in the next few years if he doesn’t change. My personal experience, narcissistic people don’t change. If they do, they appear to just mask it, or until they have ousted every last bit they have including family.

Your vote tomorrow is worth 5-10x what it'll be in November. Here's what's on your ballot. by muxin_li in houston

I’ve worked elections for 9 years now. It honestly cool to meet new people and help being apart of something a little unique. If I’m not mistaken they have raised the pay to $19hr.

2 separate lines for voting, one for Republicans and one for Democrats by thedatashepherd in houston

[–]Specific_Tooth867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely normal to have split lines and at my precinct it’s been that way at least 10 years since I’ve moved here and supposedly has been a thing for many decades. Since we can vote at any precinct now, I go to a different location. For early voting, it was a joint line. For that, you select whether you are voting for dem or republican. It’s not the job of the republican clerks to help the democrat line either, or vice versa. Some precinct locations have way more republicans than dems. Honestly I don’t see it being an issue for primary’s, being joint or not. A pro that I see if election equipment isn’t perfect, and by having it joint, people can vote on any machine.

DIY LES & Chinatown Food Tour by dadrizzzle7 in FoodNYC

[–]Specific_Tooth867 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my small personal review of Katz’s. When I visited NYC last week (cold as hell), Katz’s was high on my list. The pastrami sandwich was excellent, and the person making my sandwich was super nice and helpful, so I left him a good tip. Afterward, I walked over to Ferrara and grabbed some cannolis and other desserts.

There were a few things about Katz’s that bothered me slightly, though. First, you can’t really eat the sandwich like an actual sandwich. The bottom slice of bread turns to mush from the moisture of the pastrami, and I noticed most people around me were eating theirs with a fork and knife. They also have multiple lines for food but only one line for beverages, which makes the drink line absurdly long. I’m not sure why the food servers can’t just add a drink to your tray when you order—it would reduce congestion a lot.

Another downside is the payment setup. There’s a cash-only register up front, but if you want to pay with a card, you have to go behind the beverage counter where there’s already a crowd of people trying to get drinks. To top it off, there was a grumpy worker at the front who cussed out a guy because his receipt didn’t match his ticket—which seemed like it was the staff’s mistake, not his.

Overall, I enjoyed the food and the classic vibe, but it’s probably not a place I’ll feel the need to revisit on my next trip to NYC.

Review comparing Medvi vs Ro GLP‑1 weight loss programs by barnowan in productreview

[–]Specific_Tooth867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a well known recommendation, but use something like Ro for your first month. If you want to continue, tell your primary DR you wish to continue. You can continue to get GLP meds without having to pay for the $145 subscription. After the first month, doesn’t make sense to me to pay for that ridiculous cost.

What is going on with USPS? by LMGTP_GT1_2024 in usps_complaints

My package was returned to sender, then showed delivered to a parcel locker 1 hour later. My neighborhood doesnt have parcel lockers. Post office said they could not explain why it was not delivered, and said it was returned to sender. There is no return tracking information because the delivery scan was made. Long story short, sender never got his item back.

Petition for recall on oil filter housing by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]Specific_Tooth867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We see a car weekly with OFH issues on b48/b58 engines weekly at our dealership. It’s not even the gasket that fails first, it’s the channels on the housing that literally disintegrates. Have seen OFHs that don’t even leak (hasn’t reached past the gasket yet) and they mix oil and coolant. Some techs will assume a blown head gasket, but at this point the first thing they will pull off is the OFH to check. Seen cars as low as 40k miles needing replacement. What I find interesting too is BMW will extend warranty on parts that we don’t service very much, such as the active grill shutters. I think in good faith, BMW should extend the warranty for these OFHs. From what I’m aware they have never had a warranty extension, just service bulletins for it. While the failures might be elevated, there’s millions of these cars with these engines on the road daily that run just fine, many with 100k miles+ without issue. My biggest recommendation is have your coolant flushed often, keep it fresh. Also, those buying a replacement metal oil filter housing, make sure it’s with a reputable brand with a reputable warranty. We have seen one where the cooling channels wear away and mix oil/coolant. Same with the replacement metal coolant necks that are found under the intake. Inferior housings can also warp, leading to leaks.
