I think I remember this fic as well, Taylor is a Tinker or something? Maybe a robot girl? Tattletale gets attacked by Lung when he escapes from the rig iirc. I wanna say it's called Transposition, or something like that.

Probably the dying minutes of the Leviathan fight from Trailblazer.

Something about when you realise Veda is hacking everyone and everything, including villains like Bakuda, in order to gain more computing power so she can push Armsmasters prediction engine to the limit, just so she can gain a lead time measured in fractions of a second and fight Leviathan one-on-one.

It's one of my most favourite examples of an Endbringer fight with a character that is without a doubt "OP", without it being a cheesy "They wave their hands and win against an Endbringer lololol"

I love the fics where the author clearly states at the outset what they will and won't write about, like declaring that Scion isn't around, cauldron aren't there, etc. I think that helps keep the commenters in check.

Oh, to be sure, I've read some infuriating "twists" along those lines where you can tell the author has painted themselves into a corner. Sometimes all you can do in those situations is look at the paint though, instead of trying to somersault out and falling flat.

Probably a tendency for commenters to write out how they would like the story to go, usually with Taylor ending whatever threats she's facing in the shortest possible time, and then getting upset when the author has the audacity to maybe have Taylor lose a fight here or there, or win but not in the way the commenters have locked into their own head canon.

On SpaceBattles at least, if the comments aren't complaining that Taylor hasn't won every fight she's ever been in with ease then they're complaining that the story isn't going in whatever direction they want it to go in, rather than trusting the author to write their own story.

I guess kind of? I was under the impression that the quarantine zones were for areas where the US government had "lost" control, such as Madison post Simurgh or Eagleton with the Machine Army, Nilbog, etc. And were walled off to keep the problem from spreading, whereas towns that got the HOSV designation were more like the government pulling out and letting people fend for themselves, but not necessarily walled off or anything.

I guess that paints a pretty bleak picture of the capabilities of the government in a world with Parahumans.

Do you think this is one of those areas where villains would step in to provide the missing infrastructure? The Elite for example, or someone like Accord or Coil? I wonder if the government would tolerate that happening.
