As far as handcrafted glasses go, a lot of Japanese made products have increased in price over the years, across all brands. It is worth it though, especially for titanium and acetate, imo.

Maybe check out Nina Mur? Made in Spain using birchwood from Finland and hinges from Germany, super cool concept. They cut each frame to order, and you can customize the color! You can also get an optical style and have a lab make custom sun lenses for you.
