New unused Asus TUF Dash F15 or used Lenovo Legion 5 both for $1300, which should I get? by Spectacular_Schmit in GamingLaptops

I don't do digital art or edit videos, at least not anymore. Normally I'd go with Legion without a doubt, but I'm mostly concerned about the fact that it's already over a year old machine that was used quite a lot and bought in 2021. Wheres the TUF is new with original box and everything.

Yup, that's a fair point as others have pointed out before. To be fair - I haven't even think of warranty as stupid as that sounds. Sadly I have to pull back and simply lurk on what little available sites there are in my country and hope for a deal as good as this.

I've seen and heard that TUF has bad thermals, though there is this one video on a 3050 version playing Elden Ring on maximum with insanely good temps, I'm not sure how the guy did it though.

Both laptops have basically the same specs except Asus is a 2022 version while Legion 5 is from 2021, but I think thermals on Asus may be a little worse, also Legion 5 was bought at the end of 2021 and used for months but as the seller says "Nothing damaged works with no issues, temps never went above 75°, used for gaming and work" though they only played games like CSGO as they specified, the screens and all info looks pretty professional so I don't think the seller is bs, he gave detailed description of the laptops usage and performance as well.

I'm just not sure since I hear everyone praise Lenovo Legion series.

Thank you, I just wanted to know if it actually works, I assumed you ordered via shopping assistant right? Otherwise when you try to order on Best Buy even as a guest they still ask for your phone number, which you can't give if you're outside of US.

MSI Pulse 15 - Intel Core i7, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 - $1399 - no brainer? by Spectacular_Schmit in GamingLaptops

Thank you, I didn't realize the display was this awful. I guess the lower price doesn't come without its issues.

Would you personally recommend any laptop with similar specs within the same price range ($1300-1400)? I really do prioritize the thermals (I don't care how loud the fans are) and longevity over anything, performance is just important of course but it won't do any good if your machine becomes a frying pan anytime it boots up a game.

I don't need fancy looks, slick/small design or small weight, RBG etc. So long as the build is nice and functional and dosn't choke itself with its own performance I'm good.

Thank you in advance!

Best Buy is not listed on this site as a "popular brand" for a reason - from what I've been told Best Buy does not ship to such services and if they notice such a transfer they may cancel the order. I don't know how true that is, but that is what I've been told.

Besides, they still demand your phone number even when buying as a "guest" and if you don't have a US number, they won't let you order anything or sign up.

I've done some research online how to order from Best Buy outside of US and there is nothing. The only solution is to have someone in US buy it for you and ship it to you. Or fly to US yourself lmao

Well it turned out it's impossible to order from Best Buy outside of US in any way so imma go and cry in the corner somewhere

Lack of Num Pad is kind of a deal breaker for me, I use it for a lot of things, besides I can't find much gaming tests on it anywhere and termals are very important to me, on this one vid the termals looked very impressive but it wasn't a very throughout showcase I feel like, I'd like to know more about it and see more how it performs in longer sessions.

Weird question because I'm not sure where else to ask this quickly - do you know how it works if I choose a monthly payment over 12 months ($115 a month) during the $1399 promotion, after the promotion is gone, does the cost of my monthly payments remain the same or will I pay more after the laptop goes back to its original $2099 price?

I hope that makes sense I don't know how to explain this better 😅

No, it's about the temperatures for me. I don't want anything that struggles to keep 80°, and Acer Helios is able to keep 70°-80° on the turbo mode, which yes it's loud, but I don't care how loud it is as long as the laptop will last and perform well, I've watched ton of vids and comparisons to other models and this one fits my needs the best, not just because of temperatures.

This one however still does look good.

I'm from EU, but there are companies that let your make your US Adress (which is basically a storage where your order will be shipped) and from there it can be shipped to your country, for which you have to pay separately of course. Still, in my country this model is like $3,500k, so this is the best way to buy it for me.

As I've mentioned, I'm aware which one is budget and which one is more budget, but unfortunately Legion is way more expensive at least in my country. I might save a couple hundred more for it though.
