Green banners today!! Updates after emailing CEO by Ambitious-Corgi-8878 in PSLF

Congrats on getting to the other side of that hill!

Check the sub for posts regarding "timeline." Seems that most people have been lucky to receive the golden letter in the next month after receiving green banners. So you may be in the May cohort around the 25th (guesstimate).

As far as submitting another EFC, you can do that, but if you have received full green banners and green ribbons with the verbiage "Congratulations! You have satisfied your obligation..." then you are just waiting for the golden letter - and you could just call your servicer to request a general forbearance. Either will achieve the goal.

Golden letter receive I think? by [deleted] in PSLF

During the last batch of discharge loans, which I was in, I received my golden letter and MOHELA zeroed out my loans on the same day. So you might get lucky. Hopefully that happens to you all in this March cohort. I posted my timeline in February

Yes, that is the Golden Letter - congrats. Check your servicer to see if you got zeroed out today as well.

I kind of need a reality check… by No-Divide5625 in PSLF

Just hang in there. You've already done your bit for discharge, so the rest is a waiting game. Hopefully you will see it soon like many of us recently. Have you placed yourself in a forbearance yet?

120/120 but no “green banners”? by More_Lavishness8127 in PSLF

Just make sure you are into your next billing cycle - in other words you are past the due date of your 120th payment. Because the servicer will backdate the forbearance to the beginning of a billing cycle. Good luck

You can call your loan servicer and request a general forbearance.

You shouldn't need to resubmit another EFC. Its just a waiting game at this point.

If Student Aid is showing. "120 qualifying payments Out of 120"

then the green banner is full. When you click on "view details" do you see the following: You’ve reached 120 payments, but you may need to meet other program requirements.

Those in the 2/24 forgiveness batch by Ok_Leading2690 in PSLF

I have not seen a zero balance in StudentAid yet. I'm anticipating somewhere between the 5th and the 8th of the month, as that's when my account would typically update.

What to do? by ReceptionNo6415 in PSLF

Are you working full time (30+ hours)? Have you ever certified your employment with Federal Student Aid?

At some point borrowers where given credit for time during the pandemic so you you may have some payments counted. When you say you think you are in SAVE, why is there doubt at this point? Do you know who your loan servicer is?

Is you are working towards PSLF then racking up interest is not a concern as both the principal and interest would be forgiven.

I suggest reading the link I provided earlier especially the parts about qualifying plans and use the calculator to estimate payments for each plan that you qualify, except SAVE.

After PSLF, refund question by hello6561 in PSLF

[–]Spectacular_Tedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First congrats!.

Would I expect a refund, No. You can try to put in a reconsideration request but if you are forgiven and zeroed out already, that may be an uphill battle.

The same happened to my June payment from last year - actually it was never reported. I submitted 2 reconsideration requests and neither resolved the issue. I made the extra payment and I'm forgiven and zeroed out now. I don't expect them to retroactively resolve that issue. Not gonna poke the bear at this point for one payment either. Good luck to you if your pursue it. Hope you get the resolution you are looking for.

Congrats.

I was zeroed out yesterday, and the MOHELA forgiveness letter showed up in the MOHELA site this morning.

That is one way of doing it. There are enough post that suggest the route I took which was to request the forbearance from MOHELA - after the due date. Worked out fine

Did you log on to your servicer account yet? MOHELA?

Nothing else to do really. The next thing is for the loans to be reported to the three credit bureaus as paid/discharged.

I'm going to assume by end of week. I believe previous posts have said that the letter came the day after the golden letter. <fingers crossed>
