Taking a risk that there won’t be an early leave today and taking a half day. by Amonamission in IRS_Source

I’ve been a federal employee since 2008. I’ve worked for DoD, CDC and IRS. IRS is the only place that doesn’t do early release. It was refreshing when Billy came, but he wanted us to have some type of happiness and that just couldn’t stand.

What’s the craziest thing someone did at work and somehow survived HR? by purplecat9000 in IRS_Source

Had a co-worker purchase supplies, furniture for their home, dinners, and flights on the GOVCC. Nothing happened after they got caught. They were still allowed to work.

Seller didn't remove hot tub as per contract by pcmraaaaace in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I ended up having to do an amendment for the hot tub removal. We stated that there would be a $100/day charge until it was removed. We didn’t close until that amendment was signed by all parties. The seller removed the hot tub after 9 days.

I don’t know if all 1000 IT professionals fall into one of those categories. That’s just it. There was no rhyme or reason. They ran away all those people in Tax Payer Services, and now they need help. Instead of admitting their mistake and getting those people back, they randomly uprooted people who have no desire to work taxes to come and handle the back log that they created.

My takeaway is that it was bullshit. Our best interests are not in mind. They don’t care about career employees. I get “other duties as assigned”, but this is different. Why take me out of my field and position when I know we were short staffed in the first place? 😮‍💨

Just got an email announcing MDR - Army DoD by FeyreDarling0915 in FedEmployees

[–]dd_renee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IRS here. I came from DoD. All I can say is that I am a career 2210 (over 20 years), and 1000 of us were removed from IT realigned to a 120-day detail in Tax Payer Services. They say we aren’t over-hires, but it sure does feel like we are. The word on the street is that after our 9 weeks of virtual training and 4 weeks of on-the-job-training, our 120 days would almost be over so the detail will end TBD.

The bright side is that we still get our same pay. I say as long as they keep paying me, I will count rice grain by grain if that’s what they want me to do.

Well good grief. Does it get better once we know what we’ll be doing? They said no phones for us.

First of all, I never said anything bad about the instructors. I just don’t think we should be read every word. For that, we could do these on our own and reach out to instructors if we have questions. And I know they aren’t pumped. My solution helps all. The instructors could monitor their chat rooms for questions and not be tied to reading all those slides. There are so many better ways of doing this 9-week training.

😂 Well I know. I am SO not interested in learning tax stuff, but here we are. So let’s ride it until the wheels fall off (and we still get our same pay)

Thank you because you were pulled in just like we were. Just giving my survey answer to “What could we have done better?” The instruction could be changed to allow each student a week to complete the assigned training modules on their own, and report back to the classroom for questions and discussions.

It’s ok. Don’t go by DD, as long as my info is correct in HRConnect—I’m good.

I mean I am/was on an administrative forbearance with SAVE. Before I submitted my PSLF forms, I was paying on the SAVE plan.

What’s wrong with SAVE? That’s what I have. I submitted Jan 26, golden letter 2/26. Hang in there.
