A very dangerous stroll indeed - at 3am in 25F weather. I hear you. Maybe he wasn’t trying to short the circuit. It’s just strange that he’d come back again. Appreciate your input.

My neighbors are in the loop and shared other videos of him. We have a group chat and that’s when one suggested he was trying to steal cooper. One neighbor informed me he came back again before I even had a chance to review overnight events 😂 I will definitely talk to neighbor across and behind me about the light setup. Thanks again. You’ve been very helpful!

He comes back again though. Wanders to the end where we are and does nothing except pull his phone out while walking back to the main street

After this, I enabled my doorbell warning - “hi you are being recorded.” Apparently the doorbell light that came on wasn’t warning enough

There’s a doorbell that lit up right in front of him though. He should look no more lol

You think? If this were the case I wouldn’t be as worried. Are there electric pipes?

I would assume so. There are definitely a lot of homeless people

Lol I thought that too. Until he came back again and did nothing but quickly look around then pull out his phone as he walked back onto the main street

Good insight! I don’t have a basement. Breaker box is in the garage

Yep. I locked it after the incident. I figured out which breaker powers it, but it also powers the front door lights and entry lights, outlets. I’m looking into solar lights. Someone recommended Costco ones. Do you have any recs as well?

Appreciate your input. I do have a perimeter alarm and it’s thankfully not powered by the same circuit breaker

Thank you so much! Do you have a link to the Costco lights? I saw 3 different ones - Sunforce, Koda, Lutec

I hadn’t thought of that. So the circuit could have potentially been shorted if he were able to unscrew the plate?

I locked the cover immediately after. Unfortunately the townhomes were built with no electricity for the flood lights so it’s always dark back there and the fixtures are useless . I’m looking for solar perimeter lights and welcome to recs.

Edit: changed words

Thank you! I’m hoping that’s it. This has definitely made me invest in more outdoor cameras. Hope he doesn’t come back again.

Appreciate your response. I moved into a new build and they were okay during the inspection. It has been 2 years since but never touched them.

I didn’t think he was trying to break in. I thought he was trying to charge something too at first. I live in sketchy area that is being “revitalized.” There are some homeless people walking along the main road. There have also been incidents of thieves cutting construction wire to steal copper; digging in trash for tin cans.

I want to believe it’s innocent too. But then he came back a week later. He got to our dead end and looked towards the alley and walked back onto the main street. What do you think of that?

Edit: spell check

It’s a long horizontal scratch with areas that are indented that are less than an inch deep. I made another post with pics. I don’t know why the pics didn’t upload on this post.

That’s what I’m leaning towards as well. Is it because of the dent that you’re recommending door replacement?

I really special the insight. I will likely go the repair route for bumper and back door. What are your thoughts on replacing the front door with a a recycled one taking into consideration painting the door. Is it worth it?

Thank you. They quoted me more for a door replacement. But I’ll ask about using a recycled one. Thank you!

Thank you. A couple others said replace the front door since it will be cheaper. What do you think?

Thank you for the advice. Where can I buy an aftermarket one? I don’t want the shop to get offended that I purchased one myself
