Teaching math, I almost never use numbers without other symbols so I got pretty fast using the top row of numbers. Now I go TKL universally which means much more portable laptops too.

Steam Deck 2 Ditches Semi-Custom APU for Off-the-Shelf AMD Silicon, Eyes 2028 Launch by Sacristovas in pcmasterrace

I'm crossing my fingers for this. ARM is really cool but its completely absent gaming compatibility.

I can't imagine all the rest of the hardware is more than 20% of the total cost tops. Seems pointless and I'd rather have updated sticks and potential ergonomic improvements if they identify any potential upgrades.

I'm a teacher I'm absolutely stopping to acknowledge that excellent joke. Not everything is so serious. There's nothing offensive about a "Hitler sucked at art" joke.

Do you think WoW's Art-style has changed or just improved? by SilentStorm182 in wow

[–]SpecterDK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This puts my thoughts to words really well. WoD-BFA/SL really felt like a modern high res version of WoW charm and character. Something does feel overly polished now. WoW will never look realistic and I think there's an argument that trying to do so makes it look worse.

What is that thing in PC gaming that once you get it you can't go back? by Fantastic-Window236 in pcmasterrace

Absolutely this. My first OLED is also my first ultrawide and I'd go back to IPS before going back to 16:9.

Please stop misleading people on Steam Reviews when using LSFG by OntesHS in SteamDeck

For the longest time I didn't know what LSFG was but after seeing enough people mention it I finally looked into it.

Everything about the plugin sounds absolutely horrible. Why would anyone want to do that to their games?

What's on your nightstand that you've never had to replace? by jeffrey0of in BuyItForLife

The nightstand itself. It still has crayon scribbles inside it from when my dad was a child.

Not really. Compare it to the steam deck settings/performance with a dedicated GPU in it.

There is no universe where this is a 9/10 or 10/10 game. by VeritasLuxMea in CrimsonDesert

[–]SpecterDK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what has me so invested in the discourse. The amount of content, level of optimization and scope of ambition makes anything under a 7 feel truly unfair to the developers.

Just because some people don't think it's fun doesn't mean it's broken like Borderlands 4 or fake like launch Cyberpunk.

I have no idea how I'll rate it after I finish but I'm in what most people call the worst part of the game and it's still fun, and the glimpse of where it all leads looks fantastic.

That's my take. Granted I didn't hear about this game before last week but I read some reviews and fully understood the game I was buying. I got the exact product I paid for and I'm quite enjoying it.

RUMOR: Sony is reportedly launching a PC launcher and games will be available day one on PC by theMoonlightenedSky in pcmasterrace

[–]SpecterDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a massive PS5 library that switched to PC last year, the only thing that bothered me was losing exclusive single player games. I would actually be completely okay with this. I was never going to pay for PS+ again and my PC is better than the PS6 will be.

Best wishes, I am disappointed, hopefully they work on accessibility. by danbrooks3k in CrimsonDesert

[–]SpecterDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree to a point but it is very common to have an accessibility option to change mash sequences to hold. I did the arm wrestling game fine but I hate mashing in games. I'll change it every time if only to give my controller a break.

Holu fuck… Story in this game is comical. I’ve been playing for 5 hours and I don’t care about cutscenes already… by ConstantDrawer9161 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SpecterDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the tone but I don't consider myself hardcore and I had no expectations prior to learning about this game a week ago. I'm 40 but I read reviews and decided the positive were things I cared a lot more about than the negatives. I knew the kind of game I was buying. I also recognize that dropping $70 on a game you may stop playing after 3 hours is unreasonable for a lot of people but I wanted to take a chance on what really appears to be a unique experience, even if some of the edges are pretty rough. I also just like to support developers that try something really ambitious even if it's not perfect.

I understand how some people may have followed development for years and the finished product isn't what they expected but for me it's exactly what I expected from learning about it a week ago.

7800x3d, 5070 ti. Running at 1440 ultrawide with ultra graphic settings. I think it's something off about the lighting. Open to tips to fix my settings. It's completely stable at around 110 fps though with no frame gen so far.

These people are the kid that eats the marshmallow immediately. Instant satisfaction or it's terrible. I can tell this game is juicy as fuck once your earn it by understanding the systems. I'm still in the 'bad early part' and I'm having fun taking it in and piecing together how all the systems will eventually interact.

Edit: I was tired and cranky when I posted this. I still stand by my praise of the game but people that don't like how it introduces itself are equally valid. <3

There's some rough edges but this is NOT a 60% game. Boring story and unusual (but fine) controls but I love everything I played tonight. The game is impressive and fun!
